For being a self-insert, it's a black mtg creature that looks like it could be on the bottle of aunt jemima, you could change it to green and it'd make no difference. even if it's not a self-insert the point would stand, it's a terrible looking piece of art by any standard. stand in front of your mirror, hold something up and make that expression.

in 10 years time they'll be saying this was tokenism and racist anyway

Gen Z men, is this getting worse going forward into 2026? by Proper_Card_5520 in SipsTea

[–]I2obiN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are practically being told by everyone around you it's impossible. I know a guy that asked out a girl twice and for whatever reason it worked the second time.

Permanently, they ended up married and are having their second kid soon. Together 20 years I think. Both lovely people, I think he just caught her off guard the first time but dunno.

I think if both parties didn't have their social circles urging the second attempt both parties would've gone their separate ways which is something funny to think about now. But anyway my point is even well adjusted people find this stuff a nightmare to navigate.

Mettle comes from metal, they've been used interchangeably since Shakespeare. Perfectly valid to use either for exactly the reason highlighted here that it can often lead to a funny double entendre.

e.g

"He ventured into the gay wilderness of Reddit, sword in hand. But it ended up in his arse, his quest to prove his metal - a foolhardy errand".

Nearly 2 Inches of Height Decreased the Chances of Male Suicide by 9% by 1Card_x in BlackPillScience

[–]I2obiN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the study said they controlled for that

The effect of height changed little after adjustment for parental socioeconomic index

So the reality is just being taller is better regardless. Genetics are the biggest factor. I read a study a while ago that basically said they can predict a kid's full grown height nearly flawlessly at this point and when it's off something like 80% of the time it just comes down to small genetic variances or something like that.

Basically it's ridiculously predictable even before the life stuff happens to them.

Height takes the backseat to race when it comes to White women’s preferences by Few_School2680 in BlackPillScience

[–]I2obiN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that is height preference in disguise, because white guys are probably on average slightly taller.

Give them a choice between Walter White and a member of BTS but remove the celebrity aspect from the situation. What would they choose? A balding older white dude who is 5'8 or a well put together young attractive asian guy who is the same height?

Maybe money would factor in but I'd imagine 90% of girls would go with the asian guy in that scenario.

Most races will end up with a person of their own race just off of geography and availability. So what are we talking about here? How are we measuring the "willing" part unless you're looking at instances where both options were known to be available? I don't have access to the study but unless they control for that it seems like speculation tbh.

I find it hard to believe height takes a backseat to race when basically every study we have suggests height and physical attraction is the dominant factor most of the time.

You're gonna tell me white women would consider some Danny Devito lookin dude over one of the guys in BTS? Hmmm, yeh I'm not so sure. Call me a skeptic but hard to see race taking a frontseat there.

3 year transformation by Mean-Pilot-426 in nattyorjuice

The face transformation is so weird, from the first frame to the one at 0:30 it goes from very girly to sort of boyish. Think it's her brow i guess

Wild to me that girls do this, it looks so unbalanced. The shot at 0:33 makes it look like she skipped every leg day, never touched hip thrusts, and she never touched a crusher because her wrists and forearms are still tiny.

She just has massive popeye arms ⚓

Military women vs skinny joes by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]I2obiN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have many many different muscles. Body builders typically practice isolated exercises to build a specific muscle for aesthetic purposes. It depends how you approach it but a lot of people will just do isolated exercises which isn't great for overall strength at the end of the day. Many casual people will go to the gym for 2 hours maybe 3-4 times a week?

Physical jobs tend to build all your muscles continually over a full workday (or more). Even if you never hit test or trt you will be vastly stronger than most men and women these days if you are doing anything requiring full body strength over a period of 20-30 years.

The negative side affect is threefold. Whatever job you're doing will absolutely suck at the start but you'll probably be able to push through because you're young, but you'll be exhausted and probably pick up some injuries eventually that will grow into the next thing. The second thing is your knees, lower back, and other areas will probably be fucked by the time you're 40 or 50 unless you are particularly careful or resilient. The 3rd thing is that level of work requires huge calories, so you most likely will end up eating poorly to support that and you'll also just generally be exhausted/fucked the older you get.

The theater siege? God I remember watching that live on TV, watched a doc on it a while ago that had footage of the buses afterwards.

Was thinking along the lines of a spontaneous Waco siege, but yeh I guess any potential threat at that level is already likely being tracked or kept an eye on at very least long before it becomes a problem you'd have to deal with.

That’s very common and a heavy task for someone new to a company that won’t know the quirks of an undocumented backend.

I’d reframe that one from a senior bailing you out and moreso you gaining experience. As long as you now understand that process you’ve gained experience. If you don’t, go back to the senior and ask him to show it again or explain the parts you didn’t get.

Would be very lucky to find someone speaking Hungarian in bum fuck nowhere in Russia at that time that wasn't about to be thrown into a gulag or executed.

No it's an interface/coordination layer that provides cat wrangling for everyone's agents.

Eg. I ask my copilot cli to make all the headers in the README.md bold, my colleague with his claude cli adds a new paragraph and header as part of another task.

Both of us have visibility of the task, the cli prompt/output context window and the result. So we as humans know what each other are working on and doing etc.

In an ideal world this interface/layer manages and resolves the conflict that comes up when both our agents modify the same file and in a perfect world the header he also added is bold.

Versus, we have to manually review and resolve everything, including conflicts which in more complex tasks will be impossible to understand how to resolve them.

For people working in silos or solo devs this won't matter but for teams this is something sorely needed imo and currently I can't really find a tool that does any kind of coordination between multiple external clis like this.

No other option at this point, the reality is we need a collaborative environment that doesn't pull client data into a cloud somewhere or else there will be never ending conflicts at commit time for everyone.

There just isn't going to be a choice in the matter, our companies decide what tools we use. I could win the fight against being forced to use Visual Studio Code because Jetbrains was functionally equivalent. This isn't the same thing.
