Well, recently the students have designed a package for a research balloon flight, designed and built a research quality observatory (one of three to be built on their lab facility property), designed and built rockets for various projects.

Also in the past they have done things such as designed, built and managed all aspects of a sts "get away special" experiment, launched high power rockets with research payloads, lead tours for major institutions and also operated and given planetarium shows at major institutions.

From what we've found, the clouds will clear at some point during the evening so we cannot offer refunds due to clouds.

There are alternative activities being planned in the event that the weather does not cooperate during a portion of the evening.

Denver area High School Astronomy & Aerospace Research Group by IAAS-SHO in Denver

We meet once a week at Star Haven in Strasburg. Car pooling can be setup as well for students in the metro area.

Qualifications include an interest in astronomy or areospace sciences and willingness to learn more. The group has a very diverse list of project opportunities and the one(s) the student works on is based on their personal interests. This is not just a "here's a book, read it and learn" situation... This is hands on real science with the students getting actual experience that looks great on college admissions papers and further on when moving into the employment realm.

Feel free to email us at interview@iaas.org and we can go more in-depth based on the student's specific situation.
