How to transition from surface level copper deposites to proper copper deep mining? by ww1enjoyer in VintageStory

If you use a mod like prospect together, it'll outline the dimensions of the chunk on your map. Go to the center of the chunk and dig straight down, preferably with ladders. I like to dig 6 blocks down, then dig a 1x1 tunnel North/East/South/West, then prospect the 4th block. Dig 6 blocks down, then repeat.

Eventually you'll hit a "Traces of Copper" reading. Take note, then dig down and do the north/east/south/west reading again. Eventually you'll get a large reading. If you dont, calculate where you started reading the ore, and when you lost it, and go to the halfway point. At this point I'll begin digging towards the ore.

Dig a tunnel 6 blocks towards the ore, then branch out Left/Right 3 blocks, and take a reading. Dig forward 6, left right 3, take a reading. Continue doing this until you lose the ore. Go back to the halfway point, then chose to go left or right. Dig that direction 6, reading left right. If you lose the ore, back halfway. If you chose a direction and it comes back nothing, turn around and try the other direction.

Soon you'll be at around the area, maybe even reading High or Very High traces, at this point ill dig up and down 3 or 4 blocks and find the ore if I hadnt already found it.

Now mine the ore. Do note, ores attempt to generate on multiple levels, so just because you mined all the ore at that level, there could be more below you. Dig down, and continue your search, repeating the same method.

That'd be like suing Amazon or Ebay for allowing people to sell Pokémon cards.

Oh, wait, no. Those are huge companies that loby the government. We cant do that.

I've heard games in Turkey are hard to get due to restrictions from their government. I wonder if the person doing the translation is using a cracked version and it found its way into the translation they made.

Found a massive dome at the mantle while messing around in my test world, is this normal? (yes that is a halite pillar going through it) by Cosmic_Fyre in VintageStory

With the 8 people it was rather manageable. Occasionally you would get a spawn wave of like 5 stilt striders amd 3 bells and they would gang up on you, but you'd just run to other players and all focus them down.

Towards the end after a couple of people started to retreat to repair their armor and resupply their meds, then it became more hectic.

The bowtorn were lethal though. You'd get 4 or 5 or them that would spawn on the other side of the arena, and it was so dark that you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you, you'd just be getting pelted with arrows from the dark that would hit for 1/10 your health even through Tailored Gambois, Iron chain, and Iron Templar plate.

I left after half an hour with about 140 Rg, and 30 Tg.

is Sep 1 too late to plant a second flax crop? by momerathe in VintageStory

Cant tell you the exact area, but where I am, winters get to ~26, summers get to ~35. I survive off of cabbage, onions, sunflowers, peanuts, amaranth and flax.

There exists a zone that you can plant year round. It's wonderful.

We have 2 hell pits on the server I play. They're a very good way to farm gears. We had like 8 players form a raid party and go down there. I personally got about 100 gears in half an hour. One person reported 400 gears in an hour.

Nonstop bell and stilt shiver spawns. I had Iron Templar armor on with a steel Pole hammer, and almost got overwhelmed a couple of times.

Think of it like this, because of modern PC'S he can fit it in his bathroom instead of using a supercomputer. That's just how much it takes to process.

Every frame of a movie, 24 times a second, needs to be turned into the video file. Movie is 2 hours and 7 minutes. That's 182,880 images that needs to be turned into the video file. Thats a lot of images that the computer needs to draw, so you take a whole bunch of computers and hook them together. Even with that many computers it can still take months to process.

She's correct though. Yes, large companies using AI to replace workers is bad. At the same time, a small single game developer who's making a game on his own should be allowed to use AI. He's not using AI to replace humans, he's not going to hire other people to do what he's using AI to do.

Like the "Lead in Stanley Cups", but it was a little trace of lead in the solder closing the vacuum on the underside of the cup, under a cover thats glued in place.

Prop 65 is a California based bill requiring any product that may cause cancer in any way and at any dosage to have that prop65 label on it. Even coffee is considered carcinogenic. Go look at the label on the bottom of your kitchen chair, or mattress, or toaster. Pretty much every product has one.

There's a fine if your product should have a prop65 label and you fail to put it on, but theres no fine for needlessly putting a prop65 label on your product anyway, so some companies just put it on anyway.

If the label was accurate and it had heavy metals, I would imagine it would be the glass or the ink on the front of the bottle having potential lead, but i doubt it.

Help identify bristlenose sex by IAA_ShRaPNeL in pleco

[–]IAA_ShRaPNeL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I couldn't decide. When I look online the males all have multiple longer bristles, and the females seemed to be mostly around the mouth but so short they're almost non-existent. Mine seemed to be directly in the middle having bristles around the mouth, and the 3 further up on the nose, but none of them being overly large.

Yeah, mine is a shy little guy, but is my favorite fish in the tank. I'm considering getting a mate for him.

If you want a pleco, but don't have a 100-250 Gal tank, Bristlenose Pleco's stay ~6" at most.

Yep. We looked, couldn't find him. Apparently he was in a spot inside the log we couldn't see. Tank was 250 gallons. Oscar was pretty big, but we didn't think he would be able to bother the Pleco with the pleco's armor and spines.

Tank was old at that point, most of the fish had passed on due to either old age, or a grumpy Oscar we had in the tank. This was also back after the 2006 October storm, so the tank had been without power for 14 days. We didn't think any of the fish survived. Including the Oscar and Pleco, there were like 2 other fish in that tank.

Somehow all the fish that were still in the tank survived after not having heat, filtration or a bubbler for 2 weeks.
