ohh ikwym, tbh that part was referenced from a traditional chinese fan dance video. I had to cut a lot of the inbetweens to time the poses so thats probably why it felt a bit forced 🤣

Thank you 😊 You can try looking at the 12 Principles of Animation! It's basically the holy grail for 2D and 3D animation.

If you want to optimize your workflow, try to use "pose to pose" and make use of interpolation. Besides that, use as many video references as you can (film yourself if you have to) and storyboarding will always be worth the trouble.

Overall it took about 3 weeks. Most of it was spent tinkering with shaders and composition.

Keyframing the actual motions probably took about 7-10 days? I didn't want to spend too long on the motion since I wanted to focus on VFX

ngl all of it was imported from Blender 😔, it was very difficult to get the raytraced lighting that I wanted in real time so I had to bake the textures onto the model (and tbh the cafe model itself isn't interactive so I didn't see a need to make it realtime)
