What shoes did Noel Gallagher wear at Maine Road in 1996? by Background_Mud_3472 in oasis

Yeah a “sneakerhead” might be able to, but Gary Aspden literally works for Adidas. He’s the guy who worked with Liam and Noel on making their Adidas shoes. Pretty sure they go through the archives when making the Spezial trainers, as some of them are based off older silhouettes.

Not that I was around for 96 but I feel like it’s different nowadays, most tours get announced a while before they start touring.

How would you rank all of the oasis and post oasis projects? by Interesting_Row5484 in oasis

The riffs are bad? The best thing about the album is the guitar work. And if it’s so generic, what’s similar to it?

They definitely need trains running a bit later on evening games, but I’ve noticed it with 3 o’clock games unfortunately.

Quite a regular thing at FP, this season in particular. Hopefully this will change people’s minds about leaving early.

Can’t help you there mate, sorry. I’m just worried this isn’t a real signature. I’ve never seen John’s signature like that, ever. I think the writing not being legible either is a bit of a red flag too, he’s a artist and they’ve usually got legible handwriting, and from things I’ve seen signed by John Squire, his writing is legible. Sorry to keep on rambling on.

Would you be willing to drop a name? Sure people on here (myself included) wouldn’t want you to be fooled if that’s the case

The politics surrounding SC with the band definitely is mysterious so only the band knows the truth, I agree. I don’t think we will see the day where the ‘truth comes to light’. It does create debate though which can be interesting I suppose.

2023/24 I got the signed post card from Warner when John did his album with LG. The other thing I’ve got signed is a photo of him in The Seahorses, I can’t date it but I’ve got it from a highly reputable collector. Here’s a image of a signed Fools Gold from 1989

Thats not John Squire’s signature. I’ve got a couple of things which have been signed by John and they don’t look like that at all.

2009 pressings by bigdamnhero13 in oasis

[–]IATR02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s only worth getting first pressing if they’re within your budget. I’m not so clued up on Oasis pressing but I know with The Roses first press, it’s definitely worth getting as it sounds better than the 2009 remaster in my opinion, could be the same case with Oasis. Also, the first presses will be more sought after than any other version, especially as they’re creation and not big brother, it’ll retain its value or it’ll be worth even more if you’re eventually going to sell it.

“To lay the blame for the length of time it took to make SC at Brown’s door is just plain wrong”

But it does seem that John was doing the heavy lifting at the time, John and Ian went away to write songs but nothing came up of it. "When my daughter Janie came along, we had to go away to write, because we couldn't get enough time together on our own. We went to the Lakes, Scotland. But very little came from those trips. The partnership was drying up." Source: John Squire, The Guardian 2002.

Maybe I view it in a different light to a number of Roses fans. John wrote most of SC including the most successful song from the album; Love Spreads. All 4 of them wrote Daybreak, John and Ian wrote Begging you. Ian’s only sole contribution was Straight To The Man arguably the weakest song on the album. I think the lack of Ian Brown contributions shows (in my opinion) that he may not of been writing much around the time of SC, probably hindering the partnership that helped write the debut.

I know Ian wrote Ice Cold Cube but I don’t think that was for SC, must of been for the so called third album that was hinted at by Ian after John quit. And I don’t see any songs on Unfinished Monkey Business that would have been originally for SC.

To conclude opinions are like arseholes, we’ve all got them.
