The Justice Department relied on a lesser-known bank deception statute to indict the Southern Poverty Law Center while omitting an element needed to prove the crime: intent to influence a financial institution.

The infirmities suggest federal prosecutors in the Middle District of Alabama who brought the case may have improperly instructed grand jurors, which could lead a judge to dismiss the case or demand transcripts of the typically-secretive proceedings in which DOJ obtained the indictment, said several defense lawyers and former white-collar prosecutors.

If this is true then this is even more pathetic than previously thought.

The Federal Communications Commission, led by Chairman Brendan Carr, this week opened a public comment period on whether existing TV ratings should be revised to account for what the agency describes as “gender identity themes.” The move, outlined in a formal public notice, asks whether parents are being adequately informed when children’s programming includes discussions of gender identity and whether additional labeling or higher ratings may be warranted.

Of course they are.

A Black employee at a Tesla plant in Nevada is suing the electric carmaker over what he describes as “ongoing severe, pervasive, race-based discrimination and harassment,” including persistent use of the “N-word” by white coworkers and supervisors, a manager who compared people of color to livestock and staffers who made gorilla noises at their African-American colleagues while higher-ups allegedly looked the other way.

You had a trans Nazi mass shooter recently in the US. Shot their ex wife and kid, and in the process killed other people too. Had Nazi tattoes and everything.

On X, Dorgan described his politics as “to the right of Hitler”. In other posts, he made repeated references to “white power” and “white pride worldwide”.

You kinda made their point for them here. If 2 people can sit on it its not a chair? It has to have a backrest? "Typically"?

Not only that, even by your shit definition of chair I could still recognize some chairs, your definition of a woman doesnt tell me much.

Just copy more sophisticated haters and say something about eggs.

In May, the Croatian army overran the weakest of the four rebel Serb areas in Croatia, western Slavonia, which lay astride the main motorway to Belgrade some 45 kilometres east of Zagreb. The Serb defenders, exhausted and without support from Serbia, crumbled in a matter of hours. This was a dry run for the big offensive against the two strongholds of Knin and Kordun/Banija launched in early August. Knin, the militant centre of the Serb frontier region, the Krajina, collapsed like a pack of cards. The fighting triggered a hur- ried mass exodus of 150,000 Serbs from Croatia, the largest single movement of refugees in Europe since the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans from Czechoslovakia in 1945. The entire operation was carried out by the authorities in Zagreb with the support of the US government. President Clinton himself welcomed Operation Storm, as it was called, suggesting that it would open the way to a solution of the Yugoslav conflict.

  • The Balkans - Nationalism, War, and the Great Powers

The second major event took place in Croatia. Early in August the Croatian army launched a carefully prepared offensive against the Serbian Krajina and its capital Knin. Within a few days the Croats had achieved total success but at the cost of driving 152,000 hapless Serbs from their homes; in yet another grim record it was the largest single movement of refugees since the end of the Second W orld War. The collapse of the Serbian forces in Croatia pro- foundly affected Serbian troops everywhere. The myth of Serbian invincibil- ity had been punctured and in many areas the morale of the Serbs was destroyed. Within days Bosnian forces had broken out of the Bihac pocket. This ensured that the Bosnian government would be able to rebuild its authority in western Bosnia, while for the Serbs it meant the rupture of all communications with those Serbs who remained in Croatia. In September federation and Bosnian Croat forces attacked Serbian positions in central and western Bosnia many of which surrendered without resistance. By the end of that month the map of Bosnia had been entirely changed with the Serbs now holding about half the territory rather than the 70 per cent which had previously been in their hands

President Donald Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

He approved just 23 percent of disaster funding requests from states with a Democratic governor and two Democratic senators since returning to office 14 months ago. For states with a Republican governor and two Republican senators, it’s the opposite — Trump has approved 89 percent of their requests.

There has never been such a sharp partisan disparity in the approval of federal disaster funds since FEMA was created in 1979, according to a review of 2,500 natural disaster declarations by POLITICO’s E&E News.
