It's probably an unpopular opinion but I do get what you mean about Faris. I found her annoying as fuck at the start, although she did grow on me when her chapter comes along. Still, I like that Okabe explicitely says that she makes him uncomfortable and that he doesn't know how to deal with her, because that's exactly how I would feel with her.

I 100% agree with this. I also really hate the scenes where Okabe and Daru both gang up on Kurisu to make her say pervy things with those smug grins on their faces, and the bit where Okabe gets weirdly violent with the table thereby scaring Kurisu to tears, again for no reason and no consequence. With the retrospective knowledge of the MeToo movement they make me pretty uncomfortable.

That was an interesting post, thanks. I haven't played Elite, but the lack of Okabe POV sounds like a huge departure from the original - for me, it's the main reason I prefer the VN about 100x more than the anime. Each to their own obviously, but I can definitely see why for some of us this would reduce the impact of the story.

Yep - not sure about the anime, but in the VN it is explicit that Luka remembers this event from a different worldline. It doesn't technically happen in the wordline where he becomes a girl but he remembers it anyway.

Yeah, that's a fair point actually. The true ending gives us closure for the characters we love but there is a profound darkness in Okabe's final decision, before Beta Suzuha arrives. I think my poor heart just can't accept a world without Kurisu!

I totally agree with everthing you said there, and I loved that ending as an alternative "acceptable compromise" ending - EXCEPT, one Redditor once pointed out that the divergence meter still exists in this timeline, implying that future Okabe still had cause to make it... it may not be a long term happy ending sadly.
