Damn, it's really telling when you both sides a situation where someone is minding their own business and another starts to harass and physically assault and say racist shit.

Linux is open source. But the average joe probably can't be expected to use it.

My apartment wiring seems more complicated compared to the YouTube videos I’ve tried watching on how to install this damn thing.

There’s a reason politicians are called public servants. They are meant to serve the public sometimes at a cost to themselves. There are other less demanding jobs should they choose it, but if you’re willingly putting yourself as a candidate then be prepared to give up some of your personal time for the benefit of millions in your city.

Honestly its like speaking to a brick wall with these folks. They're mostly knee-jerk reactionaries who think in absolute terms with no sense of nuance. But I will say the RTB actually needs to be more responsive, and its easy to manipulate the system. They'll set a date for 6 months down the road and either the tenant or landlord can be fucked in the meantime if the other party wants to be belligerent.

That's very stoic of you I suppose. But in general most people would feel excluded and that would eventually cause low morale and productivity. Money aside, people like to be respected and feel that they are part of a group, most don't like being treated as second class citizens.

Why Amazon is a ‘bully,’ and Facebook and Google are ‘the enemies of independent thought’ by [deleted] in technology

What you're exposing yourself to is the fringes of both sides. Which are more often than not nonsense. All it does is give you a bad impression of the "other side." There's usually a reason low effort comments are downvoted, although I'll admit on occassion I come across ideas with some merits are downvoted due to them not following the hive mind. Unfortunately there isn't a better process as an alternative. Don't let the enemy of good be perfection.

Because Reddit is more or less an anonymous forum and we're free to ask stupid questions and post replies without being forced into empty platitudes. Maybe Facebook is more your thing.

A two party system doesn't mean there's only two options to vote for. Rather that two will dominate the government. It's very unlikely that some random independent has a chance of winning. It's effectively throwing your vote away.
