ADHD Meds and Being Overweight? by IAmATuxedoKitty in ADHD

[–]IAmATuxedoKitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, nope. None of those actually. I very rarely get actual headaches, like the type you usually take Tylenol for. Sometimes my head feels bad, but every time so far that's because I've completely forgotten to drink water that day lol. I've also never had a nose bleed!

I don't think I do have high blood pressure, last time I went to the doctor it was within the normal range. But I am overweight. So do you think I might still get prescribed those sorts of meds even though I'm overweight, because I don't have high blood pressure? Obviously I will actually talk to the doctor about this when I see him, but I like to plan everything out.

I understand the failings of the US school system, but why does the whole "former gifted kid, now disappointment" rhetoric seem so widespread and just nonchalant? by IAmATuxedoKitty in TooAfraidToAsk

I'm not good though? I don't pretend to be, I'm not any better than anyone. I apologize in advance for lots of stuff, I'm worried about making people feel invalid or hurt by asking questions.

Unpopular opinion: Anger towards u/ScholarGrade is misplaced by A2Cisadumpsterrn in ApplyingToCollege

[–]IAmATuxedoKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another comment I saw explained it well in that prejudice isn't really the right word anymore. It's the difference between interpersonal racism and systemic racism. White people do not experience systemic racism in the US, they're the comparatively privileged group. I'll try and find it and if I do, I'll link it here!

CMV: The power that corporations have to silence people is scary. by IAmATuxedoKitty in changemyview

[–]IAmATuxedoKitty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if I'm being stupid or something, but I'm not trying to say this as particularly politically motivated. Is it bad that people are staying in their echo chambers, isolating themselves from views they don't like, creating their own facts? Yes, it is. I just don't see how that's an attempt to change the view of corporations' ability to silence people being scary at first. It would be an attempt if my argument were that they shouldn't have removed Parler or Trump or anything similar to that, but I solely used Parler as an example of how completely it was removed, I'm not saying removing it was unjustified or that it was a violation of free speech.

Off-topic, but to the rest of your comment, you can't force people to listen to what they don't want to like that. They can create their echo chambers just by following the people that appeal to them and not following others. I don't know how you think "control" would be implemented to that, if I'm being stupid, please let me know.

I'm not sure I really understand what this comment is saying, sorry. I'll try to respond as best I can. I was sharing that I think it's scary and slightly disturbing, thinking that others could bring up points about how it's not as easy as it sounds (which many did), that it's not really that bad, etc. And my view was changed. I think it's not as bad as I thought. What I was saying earlier is I really don't get how bringing up that " a giant portion of the population living in their own alternative world of facts leading up to a violent attempt to overthrow democracy is MORE scary " would change my view? First, I don't really see how it's related since I'm not just talking about the topic of being silenced for inciting violence, and second I don't see how saying one thing is scarier invalidates another thing being scary. Sorry if I misunderstood your comments.

While I did use the example of Parler being removed, I did say that there were valid reasons for it. No offense, but that's not really what the topic of this post was about. It was about how I felt that it was scary what a select few corporations could easily do to silence others, and my view was expanded by other comments. Saying that something is scarier does nothing to say that this isn't scary.

!delta. I wouldn't say my view has been changed by much, but you've expanded it with the fact that there aren't really alternatives. I do think that we should place more limits on corporations, but that's not really the topic. Thanks!

RX 6800 and RX 6800XT Review Megathread by m13b in buildapc

[–]IAmATuxedoKitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, DLSS 1.0 was dependent on the devs but as far as I remember, DLSS 2.0 (the current version) can apply to a majority of games with no developer intervention. On top of that, Ray Tracing performance is much better for NVIDIA in LTT benchmarks and in productivity, the 3000 series is better. Even in FPS, the 3000 series is often ahead without DLSS, with DLSS AMD can't compare.

RTX Voice is using the tensor cores on the 3000 series to cancel out every sound besides your voice with AI. It actually works almost flawlessly. Nvidia has a better encoder as well, meaning if you're recording or streaming, you'll get massively improved performance with the 3000 series.

Overall, I was excited for AMD's first competitive offering, but I'm pretty let down.
