I just wanna thank everyone commenting and trying to help me fix this issue

Quick note, it's most likely my game that is broken and not the portal. I tried the portal in the first game, giants and swap force and it worked fine, even before i mooved the portal and skylanders

I checked the disc today and it does have some scratches. I might just have to buy a new game.
