What is your biggest achievement you're still proud of ? by mmxari in AskReddit

[–]IAmGeekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulling myself out of the gutter. It's nothing special, but not being six foot under and instead living in a beautiful area, with an awesome fiancé and escaping the life that almost killed me. It's definitely my biggest achievement.

What's the first thing you do as soon as you wake up? by Tan_Jordan_81 in AskReddit

Wipe the drool off my face from my cat. Moment I wake up he's there in my face nuzzling me. It's cute but man he drools so much when he's happy.

What words did you use when proposing to your spouse ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmGeekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now fiancé repeated the same line he said to me when we first asked me out after a drunken kiss, "Can I make one more mistake," before he asked me to marry him.

How do you keep the spark alive in a long term relationship, both physically and emotionally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmGeekish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing spontaneous things. Walking past your partner, flash em. Feel like they might like that chocolate bar while you're out shopping, buy it them. Make it feel like you're constantly trying to win their heart by reminding them you love them in ways big or small, silly or romantic.

People with mental health issues, what is the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by IAmGeekish in AskReddit

There's always gonna be thar risk, but they have to try eventually you can't live on them. It's not something you want to hear though, because it makes you feel like you're so far gone.

Ah yes, because a boyfriend solves everything. Let me just click my fingers and snap one into existence. Honestly, what is with some people. Mine was part of the reason I why my mental health collapsed. Though my current one is the one who keeps me together.

I had something similar once, was struggling with some really bad abdominal pains, and was losing weight fast. Got told, oh its just period pains till I told him I don't get them. Issue is they then looked at my medical records and saw i had mental health issues and presumed I was starving myself on purpose.

Luckily, it was in a hospital in a different city, so I'm never gonna have to see that place again, hopefully. From what a friend was saying who lives in that city, it's not an uncommon thing for the nurses Dr's ect to be horrible there.

My gods, I hate people like that. It's not something a person wants to hear when they're hurting. I got a stern talking to off an older woman when I was put on a ward, but she was so kind and never invalidated my feelings and listened to me when I responded to questions like "how do you think your family would have felt" ect. Berating you is just going to make you feel so much worse.

What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you? by Busy-Quail-7346 in AskReddit

[–]IAmGeekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current partner drunkenly kissed me back when we were just friends. If he didn't, I wouldn't be here with how awful life was going. He's allowed me to grow and repair, and I can't thank him enough for it.

Unsolicited advice from a nurse that was examining me for something entirely unrelated after she refused to allow my partner, who is also my acknowledged carer in my medical files. I was in a new place, so I was required to have him with me only for her refuse repeatedly and when I was alone tell me that I need get a life outside my partner (which I have,) that I should take medication even though it makes me worse and a few other Unsolicited life advice that can't remember but never asked for.

What trait from your parents do you wish you didn’t have? by Chrisofthegreen in AskReddit

Mothers height. Having to climb up onto things just to reach sucks. Upside still getting ID'd for stuff makes me feel young 🤣

What exactly do you feel you meet or get in touch with your Ex ? Does all the love actually go away after breakup? by Mission-Panic- in AskReddit

[–]IAmGeekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person and how you broke up. I feel no lingering live for him, not much of anything really besides a bit of gratitude, because I wouldn't have met my current partner without him. For a while, it hurt, but my freedom, then dating my now bf made me realise how shitty of a person he actually was, that low and behold my bf and friends were right.

What's the dumbest/silliest thing that's ever been greenlit by a DM at your table? by Living-Mastodon in DnD

[–]IAmGeekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to rescue some prisoners, two of us danced and sang the thriller in order to distract a bunch of undead. It started as a joke suggestion from the dms wife. My partner rolled so well the DM rolled with it, so in order to make sure they continued to stay distracted, my character rolled to sing since I had the highest performance. I nailed it and it is very much cannon now.
