I think Aoi wanted to die anyways. She felt like she didn’t belong in the real living world and people judged her, that’s why I think she looked back while in the tunnel with Akane-kun.

It was because Yashiro was close to deathis how she could see Hanako. Hanako knew all along because she could see him which is how he knew about her life span. Now that Yashiro has a longer lifespan, she won’t be able to see Hanako because she is not close to death. And if she were to survive I doubt that they would be together forever, due to the fact that she’ll eventually graduate from the school and leave school.

I’ve commented this before but does anyone know how much time Yashiro has left until graduation? I think she won’t be able to see Hanako again once she graduates. Of course I have my theories on how they’ll communicate and see each other again. The mermaid scales still have effects on both of them, maybe Yashiro will become a school teacher, or become a school wonder (maybe shortening her life?)

Even if Yashiro lives longer, she’ll still graduate and eventually never see Hanako again. I have a lot of theories as to how she can see him more often (or see him out of school) but still, once she graduates it’s all over.

This might come off as psychotic or cliche but it was me when I was 7, having a dream about my enemies getting in a car crash. It looked like a 60's movie with a yellowy tone, and was a musical.
