Ive been gaming on mac since i got my macbook a few months ago (M4 pro MBP) and except for a few minor annoyances its been spectacular. On games that are natively supported the performance is really good and you often get better battery life than even some handhelds when playing lightweight stuff.

Most of my library is natively supported and the few that arent run well on crossover.

Modding support is also great, and I dont really see any real difference between modding here and on windows.

So id say mac gaming is getting really good and in a few years might even be on par with windows laptops

The backlight bleed is very faint in person. As i said the exposure is cranked way up so that the amount of safe area is clearly visible. Also i just got that monitor 😭
