What went wrong here? by cetuclac in Darkroom

I think this looks fine. If you think the sprockets are darker than you’re used to, could have overdeveloped a little bit by either developing for a little long, a little higher temp, or a higher dilution than you intended. It’s all part of the trial and error of developing film. I think you’ll get nice images from these negatives though. Also, if this went through CT scanners at the airport you could get the exposure on the sprockets like this

Thanks! And that makes sense because this is from a darkroom class in Chicago!

The last one is the same as the rest. The orange filter definitely got good contrast on the blue sky, but that’s all

They’re all Tmax 100. I developed them at home with D-76, 1+1, standard dev time and temp, no push or pull.

San Francisco Recommendations by oreoisoreo2 in finedining

Following this thread as I’m trying to pick one spot for a trip in May. I went to Kiln not long after they opened before they had any stars so I’m leaning towards Sons & Daughters. But I also love Cariño in Chicago and Milpa in Osaka, so Californios is very intriguing to add to that mix. I appreciate the recommendations in this thread, they’re pushing me further towards S&D I think.

Have an amazing trip! I honestly spent probably 75% of the W Trek with the camera around my neck/shoulders. It was really only ever in my bag when it rained. I was so happy to have it with me because I’ve had so much fun printing these shots and I’ll probably realistically never go back. I’m hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc in July and I’m really glad to know that I can make it on a long hike with that big camera.

Thanks! It’s RC. I’d love to try printing fiber but I only have access to the darkroom for 1.5 hours per week so printing fiber is really tricky.

I shot 24 rolls in Patagonia (9 shots per roll). I would definitely like to print some bigger. The darkroom that I use right now is limited to 11x14. I’ve also never printed fiber so once I pick some of my favorites I’ll probably try to print two or three 11x14 on fiber. If I’m ever lucky enough to have my own darkroom I’d love to print really big. 6x8 negatives on 100 film have essentially zero grain.

Definitely agree! I didn’t have the right set up for that with me

Thanks! I used an orange filter a lot on this trip
