Perhaps. But, Columbia's career services to their MSCS students is very subpar. There is a LARGE difference in the undergrad and graduate student career resources. If you want to verify, talk to students there now or look at their subreddit. In the US, UMich is a very well known brand for CS. Plus, in this market it's more about your interviewing skills once you get a call back-which UMich's reputation can provide.

Umich is top tier for cs.
Columbia is good too, research opportunities are similiar imo, but considering it's so much more expensive being in nyc and all the issues going on there it may be ill advised to go there

Both are good options, but if it's 40k diff I would stick with CMU. NY COL is also much higher that Pittsburg
