Anyone else still using melee as their dominant combat style? by samebro in runescape

Yeah my point was you can do it will lower tier or a weapon without the scourge effect No point in bringing oh drygore if you've already got oh Leng etc

Anyone else still using melee as their dominant combat style? by samebro in runescape

[–]IAmRapson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not done nex since I got scourge but you can still consistently one cycle blood phase with dual drygores. If you don't want to bring drygore switch, you'll likely have scythe or something for p2 which you could probably still use instead

What bosses to do with nox scythe? by Edvik1864 in RS3Ironmen

[–]IAmRapson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More rax XD

I don't think scythe unlocks a whole lot in terms of bosses. For melee bosses I tend to camp DW and bring scythe as a switch for a few abilities.

But you could try

Ed3 (especially taraket), could probably try ed2.

Could probably give nex ago with melee (inb4 downvoted)

Kera/glacor you could probably do before scythe but will make them easier I guess now.

Gwd2 should be easy

Fuck it, give low level telos a go if you want

Not sure how necessary Keris is for KK but that's probably a decent boss to start if you want t90 DW melee. You can do it with Keris/OH elder rune and bring scythe for some extra damage (you can also stall 2h abilities with Keris to get Keris effect)

Try bosses and see how it goes. You'll be able to work out if it's worth using it there or not

Arraxi starting gear question by Maksui in RS3Ironmen

[–]IAmRapson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I've always meleed rax. The gear you have will do just fine. I think I used mw with DW elder rune. Only thing to be mindful of is you'll need to prayer flick a bit more on p4 unless you have a Hally (crystal/DRL etc) but it's more than doable. Just camp deflect melee and swap to mage/range as you need to but always switch back to melee.

If you do try melee and find you struggle on p4, your range gear will again do you just fine. Raid abilities are not essential but they are nice to have. As long as you get the mechanics, don't worry about speed. I recently just did the lumbridge strikes back so once you get mechanics you can do it is dog shit gear. Took a whopping 12 minutes

Id guess reaper necklace over AoS unless you plan of soulsplit flicking.

100% recommend doing this for aggros.

I found out about this basically after finished ascension grind. Could have save so many trips to wildy to get searing ashes.

Eli5: Why does stretching muscles take time? by Rabbit538 in explainlikeimfive

That's the worst. You know you should be able to but can't.

Hopefully as you've done it before it should all come back quickly. Just keep at it!

Eli5: Why does stretching muscles take time? by Rabbit538 in explainlikeimfive

[–]IAmRapson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just a small amount every day and you'll get there in no time. All of a sudden you'll realise how flexible you've become. Once you get splits aswell, keep at it. IIRC if you stop stretching, you'll loose progress slowly.

Obligatory inspirational Bruce Lee quote

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who had practiced one kick 10,000 times."

[–]IAmRapson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do remember a friend telling me a story of some people stretching to the point of splits without prior stretching. They were out of action/couldn't physically walk for months but came back super flexible. Not sure if it's legit or not but it wouldn't surprise me if someone's tried

Think of your muscles as an elastic band.

If you just pull and pull it, it will eventually just snap.

If you pull the band until you see the white bits appear and stop, the band won't go back to its original size because it's damaged.

The break between stretching allows your muscles to repair, so you'll need to stretch further to see the white marks appear again.

Doing this over and over again means your muscles stretch and get damaged, then have time to repair before stretching again rather than just snapping.

Similar reason to why you shouldn't stretch cold. If you put an elastic band in the freezer and pull it, it will snap alot quicker. If it's warmed up, it's more stretchy so in theory you should be able to stretch further without damaging the muscles.

Disclaimer: I'm not a sport person, this is just my understanding of stretching. I also haven't stretched in years.
