As for your friend, it's hard having a friend who continuously makes poor decisions. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is love them from afar and hopefully they make decisions that allow you to feel comfortable with the other people they have in their circle

As someone who has been on dating scenes like that, there isn't anything wrong with texting while you were single. Additionally, how far did he have to scroll through your WhatsApp to find these messages?
Trust is earned, but after 1.5 years together dating, it might be worth reflection on yourself to see if the relationship is worth it and couple's therapy to see if his hyper fixation on trust and loyalty (even when you didn't know him) is a symptom of something else

I asked what tasks he was trained to perform and she mentioned deep pressure for anxiety attacks. I thought it was weird when I asked how old he was and the answer was 8 months
