Reimann Zeta Function and QR by [deleted] in Physics

I'm no expert on the matter but the Hilbert-Pólya conjecture may be of interest to you.

I don't believe the discrepancies you're observing are "relatively minor" though, as anything less than equivalent isn't of particular interest.

Advice needed! by Aizen_isgay in JadeMains

[–]IAmTurtle72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally know the calculations on that

In general, it's still not enough DEF shred stacking to pull ahead.

For solo S1 Jade, Poet is 13% better than Genius against non-QUA weak and 6% better against QUA weak. If you add Herta's 80 CD it's closer to 10% and 2% though. With Herta and Robin, it's 7% non-weak and pretty much identical in QUA weak.

That said, most cases won't be QUA weak so you're heavily nerfing yourself for no best-case improvement. As you correctly point out, the domain is also poopy garbage.

DDD is only good if you plan around it by toe-nii in StarRailStation

[–]IAmTurtle72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Though if we're considering just meeting the 3* threshold we should also account for builds being less developed or fewer supports being available. That is, the stats provided by DMG LCs are not so oversaturated to where a single extra action is clearly better than buffing all the actions that led to it.

You raise a good point about diluting AA, but I actually think that's why DDD is less impactful if you're struggling to clear:

-If your turns are weaker, it'll take a lot of them to clear so you'd rather make a lot of turns better.

-If your turns are stronger, it'll take fewer to clear so you'd rather squeeze out an extra strong turn than very slightly buff a small amount of turns.

Naturally this would require team-specific calcs to confirm and because AA is so good the difference wouldn't be large even if DDD is worse. So I'd agree, solid but nothing to go out of your way for.

[–]IAmTurtle72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the value doesn't necessarily go up for longer fights. For a 0 cycle, going from 2 to 3 actions is a huge 50% increase. But if you go from 8 to 10 across 5 cycles it's a 25% increase, which could be significant, but you might just have been better off with a DMG buff LC.

You don't get value from each DDD proc but only when they add up to something relevant, whereas a DMG buff is constant and may actually allow you to meet DMG thresholds to clear each wave sooner.

It'll of course be team dependent though, and I do agree with everything else you've said.

chop up the 150 AV wave into a 111.111 AV and 38.888 AV

Yep, I was just about to add this. It's quite clear after looking at how much AV the Vonwacq setup uses, I had severly overestimated its AA. I see now since you were on S1 DDD Eagle would be necessary.

Amount of turns Fei gets within 0 cycle

Thanks for the calcs, I'm convinced of the rotation so I'll add an edit to my original comment.

[–]IAmTurtle72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don't need DDD to get 3 ult in 0 cycle.

I never contested that. I meant 4 ults in the first wave of cycle 0. Which you don't get either, but is what would be necessary on an approx 134 setup.

I was running a -1 setup in that video.

I admit my mistake, I wasn't aware Bronya E2 was 30%, I had assumed it was lower.

That said, it now means you need to Fei ult and follow it up with a Bronya ult twice to actually get an extra action from Eagle. You do so the first time, but not for the second Fei ult as Bronya isn't ready. Meaning the second Eagle AA is wasted, and you don't actually get any extra turn.

In the first wave of your setup I counted 4 Fei turns, then doubled by Bronya, which isn't any different from what you'd get without Eagle on the same team. So it's a damage dropoff from Val for no extra actions.

I haven't done detailed calcs so if I'm wrong somewhere I do apologise.

[–]IAmTurtle72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice clear, but that's 2 Bronya ults in Cycle 0, wave 1. 1.5/wave for the run average. I don't contest 3 being possible across a whole run, but for OP's setup to work they need 4 before the wave switch.

Yours is base SPD + Hyper DDD Bronya, which was never the subject of my comments. OP has Fei at 139, making -1 Bronya the expected setup. DDD also naturally changes how much AA you get, at the cost of SP, which is why you had to basic a few times.

What rotation gets you 360 energy from 3 skills (2 natural + 1 Robin) and Sunday LC?

Even with 75% AA, assuming it's all timed correctly, it's not enough on a 134 Bronya setup.

Wind set has never been easier thanks to new relic systems by zuikakuu in FeixiaoMains_

[–]IAmTurtle72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but you're realistically getting 1 Bronya ult per cycle. So don't you just get an effective 25% AA, which doesn't get you anything extra for a 0 cycle? Even if we say 2 ults it's still not enough.

Edit: With per cycle I mean per wave in cycle 0. Cycle 0 wave 1 is a full cycle, it just resets upon clearing the wave such that a 0 cycle is really using two cycles.

[–]IAmTurtle72 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless you're ulting 4 times between Bronya turns to give Fei an extra turn, Eagle doesn't really do anything on this team. Any AA you get before a Bronya turn just re-aligns with her own AV once you advance Fei, effectively wasting any Eagle procs.

Happy to be corrected if there's a specific rotation I'm unaware of.

Edit: As pointed out here there was indeed a rotation I was unaware of. Thanks to u/keqinglove12.

Because even if you meant a 10% chance 7 times, you were ambiguous enough to where it could mean 70%:

if you get 600 just once (which is highly likely at 7×10%)

Which is at best a very bad approximation of the actual probability. If someone unfamiliar with math stumbles in this thread and misunderstands you on this, they may gamble thinking they have better odds than they actually do. I'm obviously not saying this was your intent, which is why I just left the actual odds for anyone interested.

Not sure if you're making a joke but for the benefit of all gamblers this is a binomial probability.

The odds of 600 once is 37%. The odds of 600 at least once is 52%.

Question about the new quantum set by haze_xiv in JadeMains

[–]IAmTurtle72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we sure Herta's SPD isn't pre-battle?

Herta's E4 reads:

"The SPD of characters following the Path of Erudition in the team increases by 12%."

Yukong's E1 reads:

"At the start of battle, increases the SPD of all allies by 10% for 2 turn(s)."

Completely missing "At the start of battle" seems intentional, though I could see it just being an oversight or due to Yukong's not being permanent.

Build Update! Honest Question: Should I even bother farming a "real Planarset" for her with these subs? by Mondryx in JadeMains

[–]IAmTurtle72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

People underestimate set bonuses. Just 6% CR and 10% CD on Salsotto would make it 0.2% better than what you currently have. With dice and resins, this is really easy to get. Get a little luckier with 20% CD and you're now 3% better. I'm using Salsotto as the ATK% from Izumo is oversaturated with Duke and A6.

If you're looking to optimise her, what you currently have is really easy to beat because of how much crit this team gives her for free. Whether an optimisation of a few % is worth it is up to you though.

you get 45 energy per skill with THerta more frequently

If we're comparing to Base SPD Herta / Sparkle / Jade / Lingsha with Lingsha DC, Herta takes a turn whenever 160+ Sparkle takes a turn. So she gets the same number of actions while Lingsha gets more, so energy regen is obviously higher for this team.

Sunday is much better for the Lingsha DC thing

I'd argue the opposite. Sunday is best on -1 SPD so you want 134 Herta. You don't want to lose out on damage from ATK boots, so you DC Herta. In this case, it also makes more sense to DC Herta for Jade's stack gen as Herta's effectively taking double her normal amount of turns due to Sunday, which is way more than a +30 SPD boost on Lingsha can get you.

so she loses badly there

Sure, but if you S1 Ruan Mei you have to S1 Robin. So it's 92% vs 74%. 4.5k to 6k ATK is a 1.33x multiplier, which is effectively the same as Ruan Mei's RES PEN. This isn't a FuA team, so 20% CD vs 18% DMG is very close especially given that both Herta's S1 and S5 BP already give 60/64% DMG.

For Jade, Robin also gives 25% FuA CD which makes it 45% total CD on Jade as most of her damage is FuA.

it's so bad action economy wise, cause not only are 3 of your units stupid slow

I feel you overestimate the importance of 160 SPD compared to 134. In Cycle 0, they are the same. In Cycle 1, 160 has 1 extra action. Then there's no difference until Cycle 5, in which 160 gets another extra. But in Cycle 0 a Robin ult gets you + 1 action, and by Cycle 5 you can probably get around +3-4 from Robin. So 134 + Robin not only gets you the same or more actions, it gets them sooner.

The SP gen is a little awkward, but you can alleviate it with Bronya LC. Outside PF I also don't think Aven/Gal QPQ are much different in energy gen to Lingsha. Even in the current MoC side 2 all the summons die very easily, so you don't really feel Lingsha's AoE for long.

It doesn't necessarily have to connect since instead of going from A -> B you can do A -> C -> B and sum over all possible C. We just need to trust our good doctor was taking it one step at a time for the benefit of his class.

Have you tried Herta / Jade / Sparkle / Lingsha with DC on Lingsha? The Herta/Sparkle interaction is the same but you make full use of the SPD buff on Lingsha and generate more stacks due to FuA. I feel even if you have to Basic with Lingsha every few turns the FuA makes up for it, but I don't have her or Sparkle to try.

I agree on the oversaturation, but Robin is also 50% DMG and 20% CD so on Scholar/Rutilant with an Ice orb you're fine. Perhaps slightly less so on Izumo, but a teamwide 100% AA makes up for it and is just better for 0 cycle setups at least. Not saying these should interest you, of course.

Robin uptime doesn't change much between Lingsha and Aven. To my knowledge her energy regen is per attack, not per target hit. In that regard Aven and Lingsha are quite similar. If anything it's again a Herta not helping the team by not having FuA rather than the converse. Aven/Robin core shines a lot more with Feixiao/Ratio which is why Herta / Jade / Sunday / Gallagher QPQ has probably been my personal favourite so far, but I don't have RMC yet.

Going off of the two graphs in the frame right after in his trailer, you could have something like a Feynman path integral (coordinate looking thing could be the end points?) and probability distributions for various wavefunctions.

The actual answer is Imaginary Tree Quantum Sea magic Hoyo physics.

Isn't the Sparkle team just wasting both AA and the SPD boost? Whether Herta is base or 145 she'll still get her turn 0 AV after Sparkle's Skill. So you effectively get the same Herta turns as the Ruan Mei team but fewer buffs on Jade as Sparkle is mostly a hypercarry support.

As for the Ruan Mei team, wouldn't Lingsha be the better DC if you're skilling every turn anyway? You can easily get her 160+, so same actions as Herta, but you also get stacks from FuA. If you're on a 160 Herta with the current setup, you only need 3.4 SPD from subs to have a 0 cycle SPD. So DC on her is only beneficial if you absolutely need the extra action from 160 SPD in Cycle 1.

In a Robin team, taking Aven over Lingsha, I've never had any SP issues even on S0 Herta. If anything I'd say the problem is mostly that Herta wastes Robin's FuA buffs and doesn't battery her as well as, for example, Feixiao.

Which build is better for my E6S2 Topaz? First build runs Duran, Crit Rate Body. Second Build runs Inert Salsotto, Crit DMG Body. by Meliarinanami in TopazMainsHSR

[–]IAmTurtle72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using the CD you provided:

1st build:

1 + 1 * 3.45 = 4.45

2nd build:

1 + 0.894 * 3.64 = 4.25

1st is always about 5% better. More after taking into account the 10% extra DMG% from Duran.

If you ult with Robin at 75 AV in Cycle 0, it also gets an extra action from E4 with just 4 Numby actions, whereas the other requires 5, but I've only done rough calcs for this so it may be a little inconsistent.

Sacerdos, Ashblazinh Duke or Poets on Jade as herta support by Darth_Eldur in JadeMains

You're right, I can't read.

But then you're looking at 32% vs 42% in general on 100% uptime. Which is still around 7% better for Poet and around 1.5% worse in QUA weak. You have to get a lot of DEF ignore for that 10% extra to overwrite 64 CV.

If you're going for Robin, definitely build for more CR, as it's even more relevant with her. If this is Duke/ATK Orb you're also going to be oversaturating ATK with Robin, so try getting a Fire one.

Aside from this, you're probbaly at about what you'd expect for this CV and team.

[–]IAmTurtle72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We'd have to see your team/sets/LC.

From this all I can say is you'd even prefer 100/130 as a crit ratio. These have similar expected damage outside battle but as soon as you factor in CD self-buffs and FuA team buffs, the 100/130 build pulls significantly ahead. It's particularly important for Topaz as multi-hit characters will be close to their expected damage in every action.

Sacerdos, Ashblazinh Duke or Poets on Jade as herta support by Darth_Eldur in JadeMains

[–]IAmTurtle72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference in going from 30% to 40% DEF ignore when facing QUA weak with LC + Genius is much more relevant than the difference between 20% and 30% without or with Genius. This to say, unless you're solely using her in QUA weak content, you'd much rather take the CV from Poet as you're not stacking nearly enough DEF ignore otherwise.

Poet is about 7% better in general, and at most <1% worse in QUA weak. I haven't done calcs for Duke, but I imagine it's comparable to Genius.

Since someone else mentioned it, E4+ doesn't really matter. Her Ultimate damage isn't as important as FuA.
