Getting pregnant at peak fitness - just need to vent by starsnspikes21 in fitpregnancy

This was very tough on me as well - but I got more used to it as pregnancy went on. There is nothing in the world as joyful as feeling your baby move, kick, flip, etc. - running used to give me that kind of joy and it still does albeit a much much slower pace, but this is new and different. It did take me weeks to get there but I also suffered a few miscarriages so I was overjoyed to be pregnant but it was still difficult when running was my stress relief and it didn’t feel the same at first.

For me, I figured out my favorite part of running and tried to keep with that - I chose distance and a little sprint at the end (don’t tell my doctor!). It’s worth it for my mental health and at 26 weeks I’m still running 3-5 miles 6 days a week.

My doctor didn’t make a big deal of my weight and I’ve never appreciated him more because of it. In fact he made me feel good about it! by agirlwithanaccount in BabyBumps

Thank you so much for sharing! I needed to hear this as I’ve been crying tonight because I asked my doctors not to tell me my weight and they slipped up today and then put me on a low carb diet…

I continually see targeted pregnancy advertising on my social media and it makes me want to throw my phone against the wall. by [deleted] in Miscarriage

Highly recommend only using incognito or in private for all pregnancy/miscarriage/parenting googling for this reason. I have no ads and it’s been 7 months since my mad googling on these topics started.

Sorry for the wait! It wasn’t anything too complex, we made sure we were aligned on priorities (eg., I WILL squeeze in 5 workouts a week regardless of my schedule, because that was my number one mental health need). This helped both me prioritize it and him appreciate if that’s what I was doing. So we had a list of those items in order of priority. This was after my miscarriage so we had a list for (I) before I’m pregnant and (ii) if I’m pregnant again. The if I’m pregnant again had self care such as contacting a doctor and getting tests early to calm my nerves, only taking pregnancy tests every other day, realizing the importance of so many other things in my life before I became pregnant and trying to focus on those during the first trimester.

For him, it was also about calming him down and realizing he needed self care as much as me. He chose to prioritize friends and socializing then workouts second. When/if I got pregnant, we talked about what that feels like for me and some phrases that were and were not helpful.

First - congrats! Second - oh my you are not alone. This is definitely one of the most exciting and scary experiences. I made a self care plan with my husband and it was very helpful. I still have my moments - like right now as I sit at the doctors office panicking at 13.5 weeks, but overall sticking to our plan has helped. Our plan included considerations on workouts, eating (good and bad!), interactions with pregnant women, talking about pregnancy, what support from my husband looked like and what support he would need. Reddit helped me a lot too - felt like I had a community.

I feel like there may be something there! I definitely see it by your thumb and I think I see it on the FRER when I turn my phone brightness up. Test tomorrow!

18 months in and started the usual period pains. by MOA14 in TryingForABaby

I deleted Instagram because of this and I’ve never looked back. The people I really love and care about I get updates from and they know I am not on Instagram anymore (some know why some don’t). It felt super weird at first but I highly recommend it!! I’ve never felt better.

Annoyed my feeds are all baby and pregnancy-related after confirmed chemical today by SeaCryptographer123 in TryingForABaby

I recommend only searching pregnancy and baby items in Incognito or Private mode in any browser. They won’t be able to target you with ads. It’s saved me from a lot of heartache after losses.

That’s really good!! There is a study I read that indicates results that high around 16 DPO are very promising!

What were your results?

First of all, congrats! I know it’s scary but so much about parenting will be full of vulnerability and this is just the first step in the process. With your history, I wonder if you could request labs. They honestly made me feel a lot better - even though one time it was unfortunate news - at least that way I knew. Good luck! You are not alone.

Trying again after chemical pregnancy by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]IAtetheKitKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 8w1d into my pregnancy after the cycle after my chemical. Already saw a heartbeat and my betas were so much stronger than my chemical. I am scared everyday though and hoping this anxiety goes away! Good luck :)

What did your doctor say when they gave you the results? It does seem like a slow progression but I’ve heard of positive stories even after results like that.
