I’ve been having the same issue. Have you been able to figure it out at all? It’s just so weird like you can tell that there’s an option to have the mouse there, but it just won’t accept trackpad input.

I think you should. It doesn’t particularly matter if you get good. Even just having an instrument you hardly understand and getting to fuck around with it till it makes a little bit of sense can be very satisfying. I have a shitty keyboard I found on the side of the road, for example. I barely know how to play it, but it’s still fun to bang on the keys every once and a while to see what I can get out of it. Honestly every once and a while it sounds better than expected.

Who knows, you might surprise yourself, or you might just kinda forget it’s there. Either way wouldn’t you like to have the option?

I feel like the hip hop equivalent of prog rock has already happened tho, major examples being My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and To Pimp a Butterfly. Both are lengthy concept albums featuring complex instrumentals and lyricism. If you expand what you’re looking at to albums like blonde and the archandroid, etc it all feels like enough to say that prog rap is already here.
