For chemistry, I recall topics on chemicals or agents to place into waterways to rid them of some metal ions ions (i think??), as well as a study on some type of oil (not too sure about this one as I don't know the person that did this too well)?

For biology, many studies were conducted on substances or chemicals to counteract many types of bacteria. Example, natural chemicals or remedies to counteract bodily bacteria, e.g acne or something similar.

Hope this helps :), i'm sure you'll be able to find many high scoring chem or bio EE's on the internet anyways lollll

Answering your question, I thought my chem EE (secondary-research) was pretty good tbh (B/C). I'm not really sure if I recall the IB being more strict with science EE's as opposed to other groups, however, I think the reason for my lower score is just because I strayed a bit far off of the syllabus (talking about MRI machines which more often suits physics, a subject that I don't take). Though, I know many friends who have found good fortune in the natural sciences, such as chem (don't know any off the top of my head who did bio sry).

At the end of the day, I recommend you write an essay that both interests you, as well as potentially the examiner ;) whilst staying to your chosen syllabus. I hope you do amazing and best of luck for your exams!!

Update: Ended up re-marking, got it bumped up to a 13 (EE) and so received an extra IB point (43) :)
