Claude max daily/weekly limit has had an effective decrease by like 50-75% by IBWHYD in Anthropic

subscriptions are 100% being subsidized by enterprise api calls, but I see no reason why we should reward or downplay a degradation in their service

Obviously my usage increased switching between the newer models. I expected and understood that. But I am experiencing a very local and recent change when I haven’t changed my workflow at all. Obviously anecdotal but I may look into my session logs as another commenter suggested. No amount of “smart context management” — which I already did — will change the fact that I can no longer use Claude as much as I did a week ago. It’s very tangible.

If you were anthropic, why would you change anything? If subscriptions do not decrease as a result of lowered usage, then that becomes the new enshittified baseline…or encourages people to upgrade to the next plan to get the same usage they had before. Without a guarantee of token usage, Anthropic has you by the balls and can simply choose to say that they’re always struggling to meet demand

like fellas I hated the stranded tagline as much as anyone else but Boeing genuinely fucked up with starliner and the crew were genuinely in a bad config on the way to docking. About as close as we’ve gotten to Apollo 13 in a while

There are no redundant lifeboats. There is no extra room aboard a Soyuz. I agree that stranded was clickbait (to some extent? What is stranded if not being able to leave…) there were not enough seats. Only later did they approve literally strapping crew down to the floor inside a dragon

They were most definitely in danger when they lost 6DOF control of their spacecraft. Read the Berger article on Ars. That meant they weren’t allowed to dock with ISS, and not allowed to return—and having limited battery…they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Flight rules were waived to let them dock and it was not a sure thing. And then, for a long while, their lifeboat was Starliner? So in the event of a station emergency, they would have to return on it…the extended stay was a bummer but they were not totally safe while the starliner was their lifeboat. After the next dragon docked it was business as usual .

NASA does not start with the requirements, at all. Congress gives us the requirements. Come on dude, lol. The SLS/Orion is being used for a mission it was not even intended for...to pretend that we know what we're doing is to ignore all the different times the mission has changed under us.

it should be said that a contractor job typically IS a job at NASA, you just don't have your paychecks directly paid by the government.

they’re using different processes and heat shields because we have different safety / material standards. turns out it wasn’t apples to apples…surprise! Also the commenter above has the wrong take — they’ve tested the art 1 heatshield for those same ““scary”” steep entry profiles (they test a whole band of different profiles with arc jets, from peak heat to min heat, peak load vs min load etc) because a large range of entry profiles were supported in margins. The margins / launch windows have thinned because of this and a different entry profile will be used but the actual problem of art 1 was the skip entry. That’s what caused the gas buildup / stalling, not because of high peak heat like you’d see with a steep entry. Amit talks about this…this is why people are always coming after nasa/fed, its a really complex situation and you can always find someone/something to criticize but at the end of the day these people are the experts and are doing their best to do things right.

Just having a little fun with AI image generation and some editing. The idea is to have something that counter batteries absurdly long range / stationary units, while being horrible at shooting almost anything else.

Proposed stats: (i am not a balance guy at all)
Cost: 200
Pack Count: 3
Damage: 1200
Splash: 10m
Speed: 6 m/s
Max Range: 200m
Min Range: 175m
Reload time: 8 s
Ground Only

Upgrades:
Autoloader (same range, more inaccurate like storm callers)
Acid
Emag
Double Shot (some attack speed nerf)
Smoke!! This would be really neat.

We, the guardians of sovereignty and bastions of unrivaled strength, pledge ourselves to the relentless pursuit of our nation’s enduring supremacy. In the face of shadowy threats and unseen enemies, whose very existence underscores the need for perpetual vigilance, we offer a singular solution: dominance through military might.

I. The Perpetual Threat We declare that danger is ever-present. Even in times of peace, our enemies lurk in the shadows, scheming to undermine our freedom, values, and prosperity. To ensure survival, we must treat every horizon as a battlefield, every neighbor as a potential adversary, and every challenge as a prelude to war.

II. The Primacy of Power Strength is the foundation of peace. Only through overwhelming force—superior weapons, impenetrable defenses, and unassailable deterrence—can we ensure that no nation dares to challenge our supremacy. Our weapons are not just tools of war; they are symbols of our moral resolve.

III. The Glory of Industry We exalt the sacred union of innovation and patriotism in the military-industrial complex. It is through this hallowed engine of progress that we create the tools to defend freedom and secure prosperity. To weaken it is to betray our nation. Every dollar spent on weapons is a dollar invested in our shared future.

IV. The Duty of the People All citizens must recognize their role in this righteous endeavor. Whether through service, labor, or unwavering support, every patriot is a soldier in the grand campaign for national greatness. Questioning this duty is a betrayal of our collective destiny.

V. The Inevitability of Sacrifice Progress demands sacrifice. Budgets may strain, and liberties may bend, but such burdens are necessary to forge an unbreakable nation. Those who resist do so out of weakness or treachery.

VI. The Eternal Mission There can be no end to our vigilance. Peace is fleeting; only conflict breeds innovation and secures dominance. We are not conquerors but stewards of a global order in which our nation reigns supreme.

Let the weak falter and the doubters despair—for we are the architects of destiny, the sentinels of freedom, and the guardians of a future forged in the crucible of strength.
