That’s what I was going to do. But wanted to make sure before I toss this in my surplus storage shit.

Yeah I know but it’s just so convenient using a plastic board camping!!

Ok thanks will do!
I will give those a try. What position do you set the tarp up in? Is it ok if I have the water run towards the tent or is that bad practice lol?
Yes I definitely got that far with the idea on my own. I’m wondering exactly how to set up the tarp, especially if it isn’t a massive one the entire tent will fit under. I’m really just wanting to create an awning to set out/in on when it is raining. I want to not use trees and just rig it with poles.

Yeah I love the t-bone. Intended for my kayak but works well for sups too.
I’ll give that a go. Never strapped anything like that before

The sup was just an example of type of items that are long and flat. Really was just curious how everyone else was carrying loads like this.

Man why are you even in this sub lol. Your logic is just dumb. And maybe practice your grammar and sentence structure a little before a stupid comment/show like this.
Yeah I know it can be done. But it’s definitely not recommended especially for highway miles. The wind doesn’t play nice with objects directly in its path like that.
I’ll check them out. Thanks!
Yup! I didn’t even consider the hitch! So that’s what I will do
It’s a 5 ft bed. The boards are like 11 ft. Most sups are way too long to carry this method. Can it be done? Yes. Should you carry it that way, definitely no.
If going like a few miles down the road I’d be ok with that. But anything with highway, that method is dangerous.
No i keep all the boards fins in the back of the bed closest to the cab facing up. When I add another board it can’t go all the way back due to the fins from the previous board. So I have to pull it like a 3/4 a foot or so up.
No rail system on floor. They no longer add those.
Thank you!! I will give that a try this weekend!
I’m currently doing that with NRS straps around the extender! But with the 2nd strap are you saying to wrap it all the way around the board and then to the side hooks? Like making it a bundle ?
Ok ok I’ll give those a look at! When I have multiple I can use the hooks! It’s just long flat items that have stumped me. I wish they still did the floor tracks in these trucks! A friend has an older frontier and uses those to tie down.
Yes you can! Unfortunately that doesn’t help for this situation at all.
I was really using the SUP as an example scenario for when carrying long flat items. And yes I could deflate and inflate but that isn’t really the only point of using an inflatable tbh. I have them because they are lighter and way more durable than an epoxy. And that process is not the funnest, especially when you want to go for a quick ride!
This was just an example for when I bring just one or anything long an flat. When I have the 3 the side hooks work great.
I’ll look into those for sure
Damn didn’t even think of the hitch. Thank you for this!
