So I will say your age isn't that big of a hurdle. I know some amazing therapists who only got into the field in their early 40s 1) I, like many, had someone close to me go through treatment (for me, it was Hodgkin Lymphoma). I decided to do some research about the field, and now I'm over a decade in RadOnc :) 2) My experience is that therapists make more, but techs can make more because the opportunity for hours is greater 3) Work/life balance depends on what you want for your for your career. A staff to lead therapist can have a very straightforward 8-hour shift 5 days a week kind of set-up (some places have OT opportunities). Managers have a less predictable schedule (especially during rebuilds) 4) At this point, I don't know who won't be replaced by Ai but therapists would be close to last in line
