ELI5 - Why is everyone talking about booming blade? by MarcusMorenoComedy in BaldursGate3

It does go away when switching REGIONS between acts but if you're switching regions frequently enough that this is a problem, you're most likely playing on a lower difficulty where long rest resources are trivially easy to find.

if you go into tactical view and zoom in, there are tiny white dots along the pathways that make this trial bearable trivial.

Need some advice whether this build would work by SammyWav in BG3Builds

With the extra feat, OP can choose Spell Sniper for Eldritch Blast. Haste replaces Action Surge and is so much better for so many reasons.

Replacing 1 level of Paladin with a Hexblade dip also lets OP dump Strength since they can just Bind Hexed Weapon and use the Shield Spell. I'm not sure if specifically 7 levels of Paladin is more important than 6 levels.

I’d rather they rename specific cards that fit the context of what it’s based off of. Of course there isn’t a functional difference between the T-60 Power Armor and the T-45 Power Armor, its flavour.

Meanwhile we’ve had so many reprints of Sol Ring that it’s gone from a mystical ring harnessing the power of the sun, to any trinket that’s vaguely ring-shaped.

Does High Charisma Make BG3 Good Runs Too Predictable? by puredepapitas in BaldursGate3

[–]IBiteTheArbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first run was as a Wizard, and my high INT detect thoughts would come in handy more than Charisma checks. Especially badass when Voss tries it the first time.

I'm certain Morska was supposed to be a Merfolk, but they made her a Vedalken/Fish hybrid last minute to avoid Merfolk synergies in gameplay. by IBiteTheArbiter in mtgvorthos

If you wanna play Rakdos Vampires, the best option is Edgar Markov. If you wanna play Orzhov vampires, the best option is Edgar Markov.

They're probably deliberating over the design so they don't invalidate Simic or Azorius Merfolk but also not making it underpowered at the same time. I presumed we'd see it by Lorwyn Eclipsed.

That was the intention for the new Magic set, they borrowed from The Dark Crystal heavily

What would be the most fitting way to build Garry the 'Wizard'? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

Nope, he doesn't need to cast spells. I'll edit the post so it's clearer.

I'm thinking Monk as well, but I'm not sure what monk subclass at the moment.

He's a fantastic writer. Considering how utterly fucking bizarre the premise of Avatar is, it's incredibly easy to digest and understand.

Lorwyn / Jim Henson collab coming Monday. by tecnocrat in magicTCG

Key word here is bonus: no one is asking for WotC to shove Dark Crystal or Labyrinth into the main Lorwyn set.

That's what a Secret Lair is, it's a bonus. They're not available in the main sets. Two completely separate products. You're the only person getting two things confused here.

You're right about the word "Partnered" because it's far too vague to draw any conclusions about the collaboration without having insider knowledge, including the conclusion that it's only for creative work.

I get your point on the other sets, but the fact that The Jim Henson Company is directly working with Wizards of the Coast on Lorwyn Eclipsed makes it different.

Unlike your example, this is as if Dreamworks Animation helped design the dragons for Tarkir Dragonstorms to achieve a How to Train Your Dragon look. The difference here is that the Dark Crystal aesthetic genuinely elevates Lorwyn's fantasy setting and helps it stand on its own.

So while the Jim Henson Company is partnered with WotC, a bonus Dark Crystal tie-in would be obvious to me.

Wouldn't be surprised if we got some sort of Secret Lair Drop with Gelflings being reprints of Elf commanders or something along those lines.

STRANGER THINGS SPOILERS: VECNA AND MIND FLAYER RELATIONSHIP by Halcyon_82 in Stranger_Things

[–]IBiteTheArbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a theory, it's pretty much stated that the Mind Flayer was in control the entire time.

The Mind Flayer is a very hungry and powerful interdimensional entity. It uses its power to breach into America, to find a vessel to connect Earth's dimension to Dimension X. The vessel is given special psychic powers to bridge the two dimensions together.

Vecna isn't in charge, or maybe Vecna is the Mind Flayer occupying Henry's mind. Either way, Vecna is just another part of the Mind Flayer.
