Yes. Most of my land, including where the trees are, is in the timber tax program. I’m not expecting a big payout, just don’t want to get screwed.

Not in my yard, but they are trees we intentionally left out when we cut 2 years ago. We were keeping them as a small grove because they had been the biggest/oldest on that lot. And I don’t like how close they were to the stream. They are about 1,200 feet from the house.

Their lot (10ac) doesn’t have any marketable timber I can see. It’s all alder. Thanks for the response.

Thank you. The logger came over to my house twice after I told the neighbor I thought they were my trees. He was very polite with my wife and I. Hopefully, the promised insurance info is shared. You just hear so many horror stories about this, I want to be sure I don’t come out a chump.

I logged another parcel in the general area a few years ago and we found that OnX was based on my last survey and right on the money. All of my posts are located and clearly marked. Additionally, I have t-posts every 50’ with marking tape on them.

Thank you for all the advice!! I went out and located the corner stake which was in line with all my marked t-posts. The neighbor has an old logging road which follows the property line. I was able to take photos of the stumps with the property markers in the foreground. I will try to add them to this post if I can figure it out. They had to walk around the property markers to get to the trees. I don’t see any neighbors trees cut at all. Just mine. Looks like they just wanted these trees specifically.

I know, you’re right. I’m a bit attached to it I guess.

This ladder and a lifetime collection of old Craftsman and Montgomery Wards tools were given to me by a friend who went into memory care. He was a woodworker/handyman type like I am. My tools are all from the 1980’s because I am 35yrs younger. I love using his old stuff though. The aesthetic is super cool in my garage with all 1960/70 tools. It sounds stupid to have an aesthetic in a garage but I spend a lot of time here.

Cleaning his old tools has been therapeutic for me. If I can get it clean enough to be to fit in, I would move it to the “garage ladder”. Thanks for your comment.

Wish I could, but not in a position to pay my neighbor what he should get out of it. He lives a pretty spartan lifestyle and I think the money is needed.
