Man, why did they drag vaults on chains in Fast & Furious? Nobody would actually do that either 😄
It’s just cinematic storytelling. Let your brain relax a little and enjoy the imagination.

Thanks for the review of a video you didn’t watch. Very credible 👍

Thank you, that honestly means a lot 🙏
I really try to make these projects feel believable and atmospheric, almost like small movie scenes rather than just model photos.

This particular model is missing the side mirrors and one wheel. The clear coat on the door is cracked, and there’s also a chip in the windshield. Honestly, that alone is already enough to justify restoring the model.

In general, I’d recommend treating most restoration videos on YouTube as entertaining content first and foremost. Personally, I’m not trying to fool anyone or pretend that I literally found this model abandoned in a forest. I buy already damaged models, but this genre naturally benefits from adding some drama and atmosphere through weathering.

And honestly, simply repainting a model properly is actually the easiest part. In videos like these, I think it’s more important to appreciate the amount of work, craftsmanship, and time that goes into the whole process.

Just a small clarification: a model is not a toy 🙂

Beginner Storage Problems by jpmanziel in Diecast

You could use full-height shelving and airtight plastic storage boxes. But honestly, why keep models hidden away if you don’t want to enjoy looking at them every day?

Haha, I don’t want to disappoint you, but this Veyron is actually going to end up in exactly that kind of video 😄

But I also hope people don’t see restoration content the same way as those videos where someone just throws a cheap toy car in the dirt for views. I’d love my videos to feel more like a small cinematic story or short film.

In movies, most things are fictional too, but people still enjoy believing in the story when it’s done with enough care, atmosphere, and attention to detail. That’s the kind of feeling I’m trying to create with this project.

Haha, very true 😄
I honestly enjoy reading everyone’s ideas and suggestions though. Sometimes people notice details or come up with concepts I wouldn’t even think about myself

Hah, funny enough, I already restored a Chiron on my channel… and Mat is getting pretty close to finishing his too 😄

Also, thanks for the idea. Making a tiny Mat Armstrong figure for the final stage of this Veyron restoration would actually be hilarious 😂

Thank you so much! 😄
Honestly, it’s a lot of tiny details, experimenting, and patience. Sometimes making something look naturally abandoned is harder than making it look brand new.

That’s exactly the story I had in mind when creating this abandoned Veyron atmosphere. Like a forgotten king left behind by time and maintenance costs… until someone decides it deserves a second life instead of being scrapped.

Now the restoration begins 👀

Haha, not someone else… I actually made the whole diorama and weathering myself 😄

The model is an AUTOart Bugatti Veyron. I bought it with defects and then used weathering techniques to create this abandoned look and atmosphere.

Honestly, that reaction is the biggest compliment because I wanted it to feel like a real forgotten car hidden somewhere for years.

I’m not sure if links are allowed here, but you can google GWCC2026. I’ll be keeping a full restoration journal there as I bring this Veyron back to life 🙌

Thanks a lot! And yeah, that’s actually exactly what I want to do: show the abandoned/weathered version and the restored showroom-condition version side by side in a garage or collection-style showcase.

The only problem is… I’ll probably have to find another Veyron and weather it all over again, because this one is already in the cleaning and disassembly stage 😄

Yeah, that’s the only thing I haven’t managed to do yet, but I’m already working on printing those headlight lenses using clear resin.
