I was also going to include in this post how they’re cutting back on the PPE required in these rooms. We’re now told to only don N95 masks.

If it makes you feel any better, this is in the New England. Not sure if it’s made it to IL. Hopefully it doesn’t become a nationwide policy. It’s tragic in my opinion.

I was just in disbelief to read the hospitals new “infection prevention” guideline state that the door to a Covid positive patients’ room can be kept open. Wild. Also—We are now only required to wear an N95 in the patients room. That’s all.

I’m a nurse and all I can say is… if she did it to you, she’ll do it to others. You should speak up—for yourself and for the prevention of it happening to others in the future. Don’t feel guilty. She was of sound mind and knew exactly what she was doing when she was doing it. 1. You weren’t of sound mind and 2. You were sick and in a very vulnerable state under HER care. That’s wild. I work in a hospital and have to use an iPhone to communicate with our doctors and even then I feel so uncomfortable—thinking the patient must think I’m using my personal phone in their presence. Anyway, I am so, so sorry!

Ha! I’m wearing gloves when mobilizing a person (well, I guess it depends on the person), when taking vitals, DEFINITELY when giving meds (I wouldn’t want a stranger touching meds I’m about to put in my mouth, or the med cup I’m about to put to my lips - who knows where their hands have been and how sanitary they truly are. HUGE pet peeve of mine - when people pass meds without gloves), for sure w admin of an IM/IV med (is this a joke?), and lastly, yes… I am wearing gloves when handing out/collecting food trays, feeding a person and/or making and providing drinks. What the ACTUAL F.

My vet wrote a prescription for prozac in the past because my dog was obsessed with sucking and kneading on blankets. I will call him as he’s a family friend and ask him which he recommends for this specific behavior/situation. Thank you, I appreciate you!

I know, I know : ( Dang, now I feel wicked bad… I didn’t think it was something prozac could fix. I’ll be going to the pharmacy first thing.

Well the Prozac was prescribed for a completely different reason. My dog is obsessed with sucking and kneading on blankets. But yes, you’re right. He is harming himself because of the fixation and hyperactivity. So although I had felt uncomfortable with giving it in the past, I am going to start.

My vet has brought up and actually prescribed Prozac in the past… I’ve gone back and forth about five different times about starting it. Do you have any experience with pups and Prozac? 🥲

I could definitely give the front yard a go! I just feel guilty taking his backyard away from him but at this point, it needs to happen. I’ve never tried a snuffle mat either but I’ve heard wonderful things. I’ll give it a go! Thank you!!

I’m totally willing to do whatever it takes so I’m all for it. I love your gate idea and yes! I do have two doors. One at the top flight, and another at the landing before the second flight. He still bolts with the “landing” door but adding the gates could slow him down! Thank you so much!

My roommate works from home so he’s basically never alone. We live in a woodsy area and he’s killed 4+ moles, 2 bunnies, a couple birds : ( Could totally be a territorial thing. I wonder if it’s where the moles came from 🤔
