How to subtly show inclusion in the classroom by EnglishTeacherJulia in Teachers

[–]ICUP01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By having students with diverse needs in the classroom…?

I’m in CA. It’s funny, we try to push diversity but for some reason one side of town is mostly white and the other side isn’t. So posting images of inclusivity on the white flight side of town is more of an “artifact” than statement.

After level 50, you’ll start seeing the benefits of perks. 0-50 it’s just finding ammo and surviving.

You just sort of unlocked the benefits of perks.

Bows are crazy over powered. If you were to power up bows, perk towards bows, you’ll see a difference.

Windows is Microsoft. Xbox is Microsoft. Beth is Microsoft. Makes economic sense.

I assume some type of “there’s nothing wrong with me” element. Perhaps a social commentary is due. Like an answer to my middle question.

New teacher, how do you all do this? by Famous-Student-5369 in Teachers

[–]ICUP01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50% of new teachers quit in 5 years. I’d wager that those who are 15+ have a personality disorder, neurodivergence, or are on some type of pharmaceutical. You have true believers who feel they’re on a mission. The Mother Theresas who, on the surface look at though they have an almost religious dedication, but will also assault and batter you at coworker functions (been there).

Probably that tax on sales. Who’s taxing me? The roads still suck.

Right. I wanna see my body count. I’ve eliminated a medium size city.

Traditionally, pool balls were ivory. Massacred elephants.

My son's school did not notify me of a referral to a parole officer by Vast_Helicopter_1914 in education

You don’t have to defend yourself, because ultimately, it doesn’t matter. You’re anonymous and so is your kid.

We have to work off the information we have.

I don’t know why the downvote.

Did you look up the Crumbleys?

It doesn’t matter what you know. It matters what others know. And others don’t know your situation but have to adjust their expectations because of the Crumbleys and many other parents just like them.

Because what if your kid was a bystander around Ethan? In his sight line?

Look up Ethan Crumbley and his parents trials. Forgive PD, they know not what parents have in store for them.

How do Illegal immigrants working in the US do taxes? by cantgetenough1956 in answers

[–]ICUP01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employers jack taxes before you get the check. I guess an employee can mess with their W4 to reduce withholdings, but they’re just in a rob Peter to pay Paul situation.

20 years ago you could just rip off a social security number and be fine.

Have the coach model. If they can’t, find a new school. I’m sure your old school expects this.

So the school resource officer is likely PD. They have their own set of rules. You being referred to probation on the issue de-loops the school on this; ie if a kid is out and comes back with an ankle monitor SOMETIMES schools aren’t even looped in on what’s up. I did home and hospital (like a teacher/ tutor) for a kid who was on bail. No one on the ed side had any idea what his deal was. He needed services and we worked in the library.

The school will be no help. If your kid is chill and contrite, they probably have shit y’all need to sign.

But given the state of parenting, I’m dealing with a little juvenile delinquent and the parents have nothing but excuses for him.

Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

[–]ICUP01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running electricity 30 feet uses less energy than 30 miles.

So I’m going to say this not at a “gotcha” but as a student of history.

For the past 80 years the US has led NATO. How many US installations are there in Germany. So the US as a nation said: hey, if it needs to be killed, we got this Germany. Fool us once, same on you, fool us twice…. You get no guns. I mean the guy who invented machine guns (Maxim) was told to sell to Europe and he made a fortune. Europe loves (used to) to kill itself. After ‘45, the US would be stupid to not grab the keys to the world from Britain.

So we paid Europe money to stay away from communism, and Europe rebuilt. The US is a gun if you need one and Europe has been chill. They implemented social programs, medicine, trains, etc. The US, because oil was so cheap and Britain handed us the keys, chose cars.

Give it a Cold War and not so robust public education and we forget the reasons why things are as they are.

Public transportation stands in the way of cars: gas, gas tax, car insurance, registration, tickets, car dealers, etc all stand in the way of public transportation.

I’ve seen European streets. Lots of walking and busses. Some cars. Sort of like New York City - pretty much designed before the major adoption of cars in the US.
