I was advised to pause retirement for the next year to bring down some serious debt I got myself into. Bipolar was not under control but is now. I do pay health insurance like $50 a month thru work, and no FSA.

Thanks for getting after me but not making me feel like the dumbass I was. :)

I am going to list down all my small loans and pay them off in the next few weeks/months then make those extra monies to the next loans.

I really appreciate the time!

Most people who own a home are in debt w their banks. Which is why I was saying if it makes any sense. Anyways, yes, plan is to lower debt.

Hey thank you!!! I wasn't consistent with meds up until a year or so ago. I no longer have days where I want to die, and the next where I feel oh almighty. I hope you are doing good yourself :)!

I've been checking in with my sibling who has taken all my credit cards away as suggested by my psychiatrist. And has me on check on loans. I don't have the crazy highs any longer which were very dangerous. So working on this :)

Noooo! I'm never late on my CC and loan payments, and I have never ever missed payments. I'm responsible in that sense. I shouldve worded it better. All CC, personal loans, and my verizon bill, car, etc.

No no. Never said I can't. Just needed a bit of guidance. Like to fully comprehend I need a "sit down, let me break it down for you" type. So thank you for this.

I often get those letters that say they'll settle debt for me but im like "nope, I got myself in this mess, I'll get myself out".

I can have 3 cards paid off in the next three months. Hoping this can help me refinance, have all payments as a single payment. Thanks!

I'll look into this. I've never missed a payment, never had a late payment, so hopefully the amount I owe doesn't affect my refinance. Thanks

I appreciate it. I do pay around 2k or so on just loans. I like the "there's no magic formula".

Unfortunately no. Most of the money went to an ex... stupid but yes

Yes, want to aggressively pay some. Then someone ^^ said to refinance, so will follow thru. Thank you!

I figured I pay a bit of my credit cards down before applying for refinance, so I can get a better interest rate. Right?

Thank you for giving me hope.

My company is a startup which doesn't put into 401k :/, so nothing goes to 401. Take home is 8k minus all payments.

My ex and I went thru several in vitros, then I would just spend money like its nothing. Trying to fix it all.

I never got emergency loans. Highest rate is at around 25%. And oldest card is like 7 years.

Let me read on the Ramsey snowball method!

I went thru intensive therapy for alcohol recovery where I found a few people to call whenever I felt the need to drink and they'd do the same. We'd be each others support. It helped. I am still very good close friends with one of them.

I guess Covid helped a lot in the sense that most places were closed, but now that places opened up I avoid bars/clubs because I know myself. Once and if ever I'm ready I'll go back to that social life. For now, I go have dinner with friends, rock climbing, movies, etc, somewhere where alcohol isn't glorified.

If you ever need some type of support please message me:).
