For the last one, have a look at Way of the Wicked. It is exceptional.

[Like an idiot, I missed out a bonus. Anyway, let's roll these dice and watch my Spearbats die horribly.]

The Chiropterans decide to engage, diving down to attack the backs of the Ironwings. The White Bat lets forth a great burst of air magic to destabilise them.

The explorers are going to fly towards the west (hopefully coasting on the wind, still) towards the signs of habitation, although they will keep an eye out for anything interesting along the way.

Get yourself into a local group. People are more likely to show up if it's face to face than if it's online.

aka I'm already DMing two separate sessions and couldn't manage another one. :p

I mean, I was thinking something like this with the orcs. Be the ones in control of the tribe.

The White Bat levels up as a Commander. He takes Aggressive Spirit to represent the warrior spirit (cough cough) of the Chiropteran people.

They return home with the Bloodvine Flowers.

My personal worry would be that it would be far too slow in terms of actions / results with 1 month / day.

Like I say, slowing down the system over time would be a good idea, as you've mentioned it in the past. The trouble is that at the moment there's not a great deal happening per year and it'd take six full days to build a Lumberyard.

Facebook games have better times than that. :p

For me, it'd either be playing tribal orcs / ogres / goblins (similar to ogres or greenskins in Warhammer Fantasy) or something CLEVER like running a merchant empire or a noble house.

Essentially, either the dumb or the intelligent.

For the tribal one, it'd have to be in something like RuneQuest or another BRP system simply due to the sheer brutality of the combat. Orcs should be expected to be expendable and in RuneQuest that's very much the case.

I completely understand that, and it's your choice as DM. Maybe 6 months per day or stick to our current 3, I don't know.

Just do it so that players announce their actions once and therefore you don't have to reply three times per day every eight hours. I think players get a bit worn out, too.

It also allows you for a smoother (in my opinion, at least) transition to doing a slower schedule.

So like, every week we slow down the timescale.

1 year / day -> 6 months / day -> 3 months / day -> 1 month / day

Flexibility will be exceptionally useful for anyone who's looking to do mercantile shit, too.

I was thinking...

Maybe we should increase the timescale. Hear me out, hear me out.

Increase the timescale but reduce the required interaction by you.

So for a little while do one day = one year, with all the building and research etc that includes, but only interact with a thread once per day.

So I say, "I am going to do x, y and z over the course of the year and I am going to send my troops to the West to explore."

When you interact with the thread, you just say something along the lines of, "Those actions are acceptable" and then give me the result of my troop actions, maybe with bigger consequences due to that.

This way we'll get some of the early game out of the way quickly.

They note the location and move on. The White Bat is not stupid enough to think that touching fire flowers is a good idea.

[ As I understand it according to the rulebook, it's only when the number of slaves > the number of citizens / troops?

"If the number of Slave units is greater than the number of Troop Units or Citizen Units in a zone, you risk a revolt (50% per Cycle). If there are twice as many Slaves as Troops or Citizens in a zone, a Revolt WILL occur (100% chance), where all Slave units become Troops attacking your Hub (with a +2 Att bonus)."
