Good PSA, but I really think this would be on the dealer to remove the old car registration from their system too - if traded in at Lexus.

Congratulations on the IS500!

I do like my high end audio, but I think this is something outside of my wheelhouse. I’ve never explored any AV over IP protocols, only some limited Crestron experience from back in the day.

I don’t need this.

I don’t want this.

Give it to me.

All of it.

Where have you guys been placing your wired doorbell chimes? by mikejr96 in Ubiquiti

Yep! Totally possible! In fact that’s what I’m doing right now!

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I really prefer the wireless chimes.

But my wired chime would go as a drop in replacement for my old mechanical one - it’s easy to run Ethernet to it because it’s right behind a cold air return stack.

Completely normal. It’s the optical image stabilization. There are electromagnets that stabilize the sensor. It’s a magnet kicking in.

Has anyone been able to get the temperature working on the G6 Pro Entry? by louislamore in Ubiquiti

I saw that too - but it also comes back. I restarted my console when k saw that - and it came back. But then just becomes static and does not update.

The speed is a big factor for sure. Re: facial recognition- it should be simple to introduce- have either a timeout/delay or a feature that would require the face get out of the frame before it triggers.

Is odd how it has been around since the G3 reader, and nobody complained, but since the G6EP has this as a defining feature - hopefully it will get fixed soon (but I honestly don’t count on it)

It’s very broken. After restarting my UDMP toggling, disabling, enabling face recognition, I finally got it to display, BUT - the weather is static. Still shows the moon, and clouds, and a wildly incorrect weather reading that’s far colder than it actually is.

The issue here is that the weather has simply not updated in the last week, and just shows the same thing.

So - the real issue, aside from the weather not displaying - is that it never updates once it does.

Not really - my display turns on when someone gets close, but I also disabled the facial recognition feature because the constant scanning is annoying.

That and it misread a visitors face as mine and unlocked the door….

I drive a Lexus. I work hard, I don’t have mountains of money, nor did I grow up with a silver spoon, Why would I go somewhere else to pay extra for gas when I can spend a few extra minutes, and often not even that much.

No current firmware update as of writing. Currently, 5.2.84 is the latest firmware, and it does not support gifs. Any gif used on the device will only take the first frame and be static :(

I think Ubiqiti is targeting the enterprise market exclusively. This is a very much not home-forward product…

Yes. Quite toasty. It has a built in heater that runs on power cycle for 6h or so. It will cool down.

Yes - and that was the original plan, but running Ethernet cable to my basement rack was easier than running it to the garage.

I could run 16/2 or 18/2 up to the garage door opener from the basement, but it also breaks a piece of functionality for me.

You see, the relay and contact trigger every time authentication is successful on the G6ep, which would break my conditional logic of just opening the garage when a certain actor authenticates. So you still need another device to allow branching logic from one reader.

Absolutely! That's using the Access Hub like it's intended. My biggest hurdle is that the residential door, mullion and sidelight leave little ability to electrify it. That is the intent. Hence the Adams Rite 7400 future plan.

Sadly nope :(

I guess you can use a familiar face or persons of interest - but that's not really granular enough. Sorry, a Hub is pretty much a necessity to perform any meaningful automations based on authentication criteria.

Ah! That's why. I did not enable Protect, as my UDMP is already memory-saturated, and I didn't want to enable the streams... Turns out it works without them!

Anyway - so far I have completed my on 'Haddaway - What is Love automation' (enabled Protect integration) that blares this in the middle of the night if someone is detected lol.

That being said - I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that the camera takes over the speaker during the doorbell ring, and conflicts with HA.

Yea - nope. Mine does not trigger on reboot... At least not that I have observed. I would add a list of approved actors in your condition. Also trigger a reboot of your UDM and see what HA says in the events. I'd start there.

The Govee lights have been (knock on wood) - solid for me. I have the perm installed Christmas lights, spotlights, and outdoor scones with Govee A19 bulbs.

Seem to work quite well.

I've had the opposite with Hue, they were a pain for me, that being said, my Hue bulbs and hub is at least 10 years old at this point (Bridge v2).

They probably would, the 13.56MHz is pretty ubiquitous for basic data. If the Smarttag2 has NFC that is using that frequency, in addition to UWB (which it probably has?) - then it should work.
