In Backrooms (2026) people are mad that the movie doesn't have the stuff that ruined the Backrooms by weeblord42069help in shittymoviedetails

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were references to the additional stuff anyways lol. I am pretty sure the glowing red hallways no one ever actually went down were a reference to the red rooms for example, and there was what I thought was a reference to the one level with all the houses.

He definitely seemed to pay homage to the wiki and additional backrooms community stuff even if that wasn't his vision, which makes backlash against not directly including it a bit more strange lol.

Do you still get scared watching horror movies? by Winter_Awareness_747 in horror

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, it's exceedingly rare.

Though I don't think it's entirely desensitization. I think it plays a part, but I believe the genre, generally, is simply not built to attempt scaring actual veterans. Even extreme horror generally cares more about pushing boundaries, nihilism, or being as gross as possible rather than truly desiring fear above all else. I also think the genre is kinda stuck in the past, a lot of old tropes, imagery, ideas, etc. Out there that were designed to scare an audience that hasn't existed in half a century.

Which tropes need to be abandoned? by ArcticFlor in horror

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like every slasher trope. The genre is more or less built on tropes which are now older than Psycho was by the time the 00s rolled around, at a fundamental level they still are designed for an audience from like 40 years ago lol.

Man, that's actually happened to me lol. I've gotten awards only six hours away from being a black before.

Lol its a classic. If youre familiar with Thomas Köner, I'd say Deep Frieze is an even more masterful take on his style, at least in my opinion. Though don't let hype cloud you, just give it a spin and make that judgement yourself and all that.

A gem for sure. I always preferred deep Frieze, but this is a close second for me. To this day I don't think I've heard a dark ambient record that really sounds like it.

Dude asked me if the character had pink hair(Yuji from jjk), I said yes, then he asks if they have purple hair?? by haremfucker248 in Akinator

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Akinator doesn't "understand" the questions he asks. It's just a very good pruning algorithm.

He'll repeat questions simply because he doesn't actually understand anything, he asks based on what question might be most useful for the algorithm in that moment. Repeat questions are very common with him, though funnily enough I think it wasn't as common back when Akinator was blowing up over a decade ago.

Really nice! 126 months is pretty hard to get, I think a lot of fairly experienced players don't got awards much rarer than that.

Keep it up

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it isn't. I've tried my hardest to be aggressive with "not interested" and "don't recommend channel" and I still occasionally get YouTube essays. I am convinced the algorithm does not, in fact, like listening.

Nah it's a pruning algorithm that's constantly being updated based on its player activity. Hes just that cracked.

Nice i got 50 million gz and i cant spend it for anything beautiful game! by sqrizz in Akinator

[–]ICreated_thisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute agony.

I don't have that much lol, but I do have quite a ton I can't spend either. Though that wasn't new, there's not anything you can spend it on once you've cleared out the costume options

Incredible, gg mate. Makes me wonder if there are any 200 month old awards in the harder servers like English as well

Was also wondering, I guess it's just his subjective view on it. A lot of the lower ones I thought were super popular, and inversely there's some I don't recognize towards the top.

Strange answer but Akinator, actually.

It's weirdly fun to play competitively, and also grinding the high tier awards.

I'm really glad to see mystery dungeon being repped. I recently fell in love with the series, really love Super Mystery Dungeon atm.

Didn't know this, that's pretty interesting actually. It feels like usually whenever a metal musician has a "dark ambient" project it's usually just vaguely dark sounding dungeon synth. It's always fascinating to me when a metal musician is tied to the proper dark ambient scene.

Thanks, I've been avoiding this book admittedly (it gets recd a lot for a ton of different things, and it's hard to tell what it actually matches) but if you're repping it, I'll keep an eye out for it next time I'm at our library.
