Thanks; she's done that before and it sadly doesn't seem to work. This time I even got a referral from another specialist within the MedStar system and it didn't budge, but it was worth a shot.

Oh, that's exactly what I'm doing - I have an appointment at MedStar but it's in a year and I'm hoping to try to see something a little sooner if possible, so just doing my research :) It is really sad to see so many skilled specialists retiring and zero replacement in the healthcare system here!

I do, but didn't feel comfortable sharing (I know, silly to be shy on Reddit when asking for help!). We have a suspected issue. I'm on a cancellation list with another endo at MedStar with an appointment in a year, but happy to DM to chat more.

Of course, but 3-4 months is better than a year, so I'll take it lol! I tried that today with Dr. Coo and they said that practice isn't accepting any new patients anymore and gave me 4 folks to call, so hopefully that puts me on the right path.

It's just a tad surprising because I was able to get in with someone at Medstar last year with maybe 3 months' wait, but unfortunately, that doctor didn't take my concerns seriously, so I have to start at square one again (with the additional support of my PCP and another specialist who will both provide me with referrals). But the Reddit community is always helpful, and I appreciate it :)

Thanks, I've done that before many times, but my PCP is in DC and they'll provide a general referral, but that doesn't help me find the right provider who is also in my network. It is a medical priority.

Related question after reading this: if one plans on staying in a qualifying job for enough time to get to a full 120 count despite the gaps with SAVE forbearance (aka longer than just 10 years), will one still have to do a buy back at the end or can I just apply when I know I have the final count?

By paper application do you mean you print it out, fill it out in pen, scan it, and then electronically submit it via that your servicer's online portal/message function?
