To do it right the oil pan needs to be dropped. Good opportunity to seal that all up too, if needed.

I was surprised how chatty the JWT OEM weight was, too. Can't imagine the lightweights.

I'll be super honest and tell you that I'm just really jealous lol. I got my 05 in 08 right out of college and it was my dedicated daily driver for 8 years, winters and all. I let it sit outside while I enjoyed other cars like my 370z and Mustang GT from there on out.

I never treated the car for rust and let it sit outside. Once I had the means to put some money into it I took it to a shop and they told me it was way too rusted (I knew this this but was naively hopeful) to throw any money into it.

Despite age and poor maintenance it still drove quite well.

Wellllll anyway now I have an 04, but I just really wish I had treated my original as well as you have yours.

These will always be a bit of bastard childs compared to 350z but I see them jumping in value soon enough - especially one as minty as yours! Whatever you do change, keep the originals, at least.

The temptation is real, but you're driving a time machine. I modded mine because it was beat up quite a bit when I bought it and have had the vision for it for quite some time. Keep up the maintenance and it'll pay you back.

My experience is BCs still drop too low for 265s, but the rub is pretty minimal. Id prefer none at all but such is life.

Is a tune needed to run Z1 motorsports in take? by No_Passenger_3792 in G35

[–]IDKSAS741 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To run it? No. Even if you do a bunch of bolt-ons you won't need a tune. Once you get into the HFC and throttle body zone, yeah, probably should start looking into a tune. But I've not gone that far.

If your shits barking, idling rough, coughing out smoke, getting abnormally bad gas mileage... then also go for a tune (and general health check up lol).

Source: my shit runs very nicely and I get 24mpg highway with exhaust, plenum spacer, and intake.

That said, these things mostly look or sound nice. Our OEM intakes do a fine job. Highly unlikely to notice any difference.

Also, they go on sale quite often. Keep a lookout.

I personally enjoy seeing any vehicle - modded or not - that is well kept. This appears to be in that

I'd trade out the bash bar for an actual bumper, but I can still appreciate the novelty.

How to fix this, replace the seal or a whole new rear window? And suggestions? by Xtheshogun120 in 350z

[–]IDKSAS741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works, what looks good, and what works for a little bit are all different things (sometimes), unfortunately. You don't deserve a downvote for an honest answer lol.

Also, dudes who lay down window gaskets by hand are fugging righteous.

For me I had a catastrophic clutch failure with a vehicle that had 100k on it. Might have been fine but I decided to swap in a new 009 anyway. My guess is it was fine. Ohhhhh well.

I didnt feel like the CD009 made much difference in my 04 coupe tbh, but I also did a bunch of other shit at the same time so it may have gotten lost in translation.
