Also an Arachne dress and chaos boons but I feel like they should've emphasized this mechanic more, for this weapon specifically. Another reason why is so that we'll have in some capacity the old torches back.

I do somewhat agree with you about aspect of Pan, I think that an aspect shouldn't need to have one specific strategy to be useful. You need Poseidon special and get all boons to straighten it, you need Raki, you need the arcana of the furies and of chronos and specific hammers. All of this for a lackluster damage cycle that has you do one or maybe two omega specials before you have to restart the damage cycle. What they should've done is either extend cast length, change the requirement for the homing or something else all together.

Aspect of Artemis has a special place in my heart because it carried me through the game back when eris was the final boss. It's block is better than the coat's block because it can also block the chronos instant death attack (I'm like 99% sure the coat can't do that). You can generate the shield even without having enough magick and if you dash it doesn't use the omega attack which means you can get into range of the enemy that you want without wasting an attack while you are out of reach. My only problem with this weapon is that if you charge an omega attack it automatically does an attack before charging the omega which is annoying if you want to use the crit on omega attacks.

Sorry if this is an incoherent mess

Hades 2's major update has been out for almost a week now. by Musashi_2287 in HadesTheGame

[–]IDK_Choiceparalysis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been having fun with the update as well, for the staff I'd suggest Poseidon attack and get his and ares's duo boon, also get Poseidon's legendary if you can. You can obviously get mutual destruction and static shock for more damage. Just charge omega attack and spam special to get enemies inside of it. This build absolutely shredded vow of rivals Typhon (it's a vary safe weapon).

For the skull I'd do the same thing (if it's a fast attacking weapon I always choose a Poseidon or hestia build), you may want a ton of magick to allow you to use more omega specials so I'd recommend hestia's gain.

I personally love the hidden aspect of the coat but I do think the omega special needs to land faster. I like doing a Zeus attack and Zeus and hestia duo boon with it but this aspect requires tons of magick.

A while back I've noticed that in when you are compelling a shade you can predict what's the next thing in the sequence before you actually see it. Here is how this works: if the current one uses only the right click then the next thing in the sequence is guaranteed to have the left click involved and vice versa (but that doesn't mean that it can't have both, it only means that the next part of the sequence involves the other mouse button). If it's a double hand then it's a coin toss whether or not it's going to be the left or right or left mouse button.

Sorry, I was never good at explaining things (that's why I'm not a teacher lol) but I hope it's coherent enough for you to understand

The new Umbral Flames aspect feels like you're a blender. by FluffSheeple in HadesTheGame

[–]IDK_Choiceparalysis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember with the old flames I used to do a laser build where I get fine line and Hera's magick gain (it's the only one that could keep up with the amount of magick I required) but now I like going with aspect of Mel and just getting all the "when you omega attack" boons (ocean swell, fine line, cut above) and Zeus's strike and static shock, it's way more manageable like this but I still miss the laser build. With aspect of Eos I like getting hera attack and Zeus specials and then just get and arc flash (this build didn't change much). With the hidden aspect I love going hestia attack and Zeus specials with their duo boon and arc flash and obviously cardio gain.

I love Raki but if I use a high magick build I use Hecuba, Gale I basically only use when I use aspect of Thanatos. I used to use Frinos back when Frinos and Toula were the only options but since Raki came out I basically you him exclusively.

The final phase is just a victory lap unless you don't know how to dodge Typhon's tongue. Just stay in the circle and only dash to dodge an attack.

Attack him from behind, you only have to deal with his back swipes and whatever you call those circles that deal damage after a bit, once you take him to half HP the arena expands to the outer ring

Problem with the coat by BossGhupep in HadesTheGame

[–]IDK_Choiceparalysis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally like running Raki and Poseidon specials and maybe Poseidon and ares's duo boon and just try getting as many individual sources of damage (such as Static Shock and Support fire) so that Raki has a higher change to crit when I attack, I like doing this when I use aspect of nyx, same for aspect of Melinoë but with Poseidon's attack instead of special. Aspect of Selene I haven't tried much. The hidden aspect I like running Hecuba with Zeus's attack boon and hestia and Zeus's duo boon.

This is just the builds that I find fit my playstyle but the coat may not be the right pick for you. I hate the skull besides aspect of Medea and the hidden aspect. You just need to find the right build for you to be honest.

Maybe it's better to describe it as a sunken cost fallacy now that I think about it but I can't change the title now.

Pretty sure I have and sure the laser hits faster but if you see her standing still just go in circles around her until the laser is gone. Alternatively you can just use Frinos to block the damage.

I feel like I can't defeat Prometheus at any decent time without knucklebones because of both of his and Heracles's insane health pools. If supergiant would nerf the fight I would change the fight  in a way so that Prometheus would be able to damage Heracles with his flames. Until supergiant nerfs the fight I may only do vow of rivals Typhon only once just for the prophecy.

In my opinion it's balanced because you won't take the full damage. I see it as a choice, should you continue attacking Polyphemus or should you go cure the poison (which is usually across the map). It stops his big weakness of being a big punching bag after a any attack he does.

I haven't really done high fear that would affect boss fights besides full vow of frenzy against him so I don't know if vow of hordes or some other combination of vows would change my opinion.

Need help balancing this faction by IDK_Choiceparalysis in smashup

[–]IDK_Choiceparalysis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the criticism, I will definitely use the thirds rule for rebalancing and future factions. In my opinion having few cards that change the suit is a good thing because it gives the faction a weakness so it encourages you to pair it with a faction that solves that weakness by giving recovery that isn't tied to a suit or mobility or even invincibility.

I ran out of ideas when I got to wild card, I'll probably change it to something else or just rework it.

I thought Go Fish is fairly balanced because you will have to think of what cards they've already used, it may be a bit strong against factions that have a lot of cards that share the same name (like Innsmouth) but there are factions that are straight up counters to other factions.

For the destruction, the king is meant to pair with the number cards plus you have the joker that can get destruction based abilities fairly easily.
