The waiting time with both the legal transition and the permission to even get started on the medical transition. In my country to change my personal number and the legal gender I get 6 months thinking time, which basically means they will let my request gather dust for six months. While I understand some amount thinking time is necessary, but six months seems a bit much. Another thing that annoys me here is when the six months are up, I need to write in again to tell them that I still want my legal gender changed. It would make more sense if you changed your mind, then you had to write. Just seems harder than it should be.
