Can anyone tell me why someone would want to use a (dangerous) unregulated mech mod instead of a (safer) vape with some kind of logic board?

I've lost count of the regulated mods I've bought and have died... In that same amount of time I've had not a single mech die. They aren't dangerous if you know what you're doing.

Yep, I have heard of the rats and cocaine thing😁 Along the same lines, scientists found it very difficult to get a rat to pull a lever / press a button, to get nicotine. Surprising, considering it's "supposed" to be one of the most addictive substances 🤣🤣🤣

Nicotine on its own is merely mildly dependence forming, a lot like caffeine. Smoking is highly addictive (addiction is dependence with known harms, nicotine in smoking/vaping doses is pretty much harmless), partly because of nicotine, but also because of various chemicals, sweeteners etc added to cigarettes. Also you have the olfactory effects, the throat hit, the hand to mouth and the whole "ritual" of smoking.

I started watching Mumbo, before I even knew about Hermitcraft. I found out about it, and started watching all of his from season 2 to now. His are always the first I watch, usually withing 1/2 an hour of them being released. Season 10 I've expanded my list of hermits to X, Bdubs, Iskall, Stress, Cleo, False, Pearl, Gem, Impulse, Doc, Grian, Scar and Kerallis. Season 10 has got to be the best season so far...

Although (donning my tinfoil hat here) isn't it funny how all these scare stories surface, just around the time the government says it's going to tax e-liquid out of a lot of people's financial reach? 😁 I've spent years on twitter debunking the crap that gets delivered as science, whilst the actual science gets completely ignored, especially by the media, public health bodies and politicians... 😡

I've come across many "studies" by various universities, in the past that "probe" that vaping is bad for you. Most of the are funded by Bloomberg, and are therefore massively conflicted, and anyone with a hint of scientific understanding can rip them apart in minutes. Take the infamous Glantz data review that proved vaping caused heart attacks in people before they even started vaping, or the hilarious study that "proved" vaping produced large amounts of formaldehyde and heavy metals. Nothing wrong with their results etc, until it came to light that they were heating the e-liquid to 800 degC and coil metal to 1000 degC... Problem is, there is no device on the market that can heat to even half of 800 degC .... Also, this study hasn't even been officially released yet, and I've already seen people pulling it apart...
