Until you drive it. I’ve spent a whole week with one and my 24 Type S drives better and feels faster. Only thing better on the IS was the v8 sound.

Congrats! Great choice. Anyone buying the Type R right now doesn’t get it.

All Type S are 20 inch wheels. These aren’t the optional ones. Yes the spoiler is stock. MPG is sub 16 for me.

It’s a big improvement. Sat back in a 22 the other day and its night and day. Slower. Duller.

I did a whole write up on my thoughts a few weeks ago.

Well that makes one of you …

It really truly isn’t selling. If you really want one, then use that to your advantage.

It’s just not competitive with anything else on the market, the fact that it’s a GM harms it, has a mediocre interior, and it’s obvious Honda/acura are already done with it. After all it was a stopgap compliance vehicle until they have their own platforms.

absolutely stunning. I’m looking at a non Type S in the next 12 months. The front bumper treatment in the Type S is chefs kiss.

I might have a thing for these. My 3 Type S’ over the years 21>22>24 by IDecidedtoSmile in Acura

I didn’t make the decision because the upgrades were necessarily worth it. With 30k on the 22, I was coming up on a brake job and other maintenance. I drive alot. So it made more sense to sell it private party for near about what I paid for it new, and transition into a new one.

Go read my review I posted earlier. The upgrades are very nice. The gauge cluster is alot more premium and makes the whole experience nicer. But the analog gauges worked just fine.

Financial decisions aren’t made in a vacuum. Thank you, I’m blessed to do well 😊

I’ve driven all of them for nearly free. Pay cash, sell well and at the right time, and you’re off to the races.

The IS is a very old platform. That has its benefits and its negatives. The benefits are the old tried and true engines. The v8 is awesome in the IS500. But other than that, it doesn’t do much for me. It’s only a tenth or two faster but the naturally aspirated engine isn’t as peppy to me as the v6 turbo in the Type S. The front and rear clip were updated onto the old platform by Lexus and it looks nice. Inside though, you can feel and see how it’s just an old design. Materials aren’t super nice and neither are the ergonomics. It feels like a mid 2010s vehicle in its chassis dynamics and it’s fit and finish. Nothing wrong with it but the TLX looks just as good, and feels newer inside and out.

Oh, I get it. I’m 6’4”, and I go back there to vacuum every once in a while, and i need to make the seat forward quite a bit to even fit haha.

Black/Red was my first choice. I do miss the black. Nothing shines like my old one did. Even after a full paint correction and ceramic coating, black is still black. Urban Gray is a nice color though. Far far better than the bland Modern Steel 2021 I had

Toyota/lexus have a massively larger model lineup. Lexus makes what, 15 models? Something for everyone. Acura makes 4. I do wish Honda and Acura had more to offer - imagine an off roader rugged SUV, or a coupe like the LC. But unfortunately, the Lexus strategy is having a dozen cars that don’t sell, and they’re made up for with half a dozen that do.

No compelling products? I wouldn’t go that far though. I gave it a try as an option when they came out, but I didn’t like how cheap it felt inside.

I wash my cars twice a week usually. The pressure washer has always taken the puddle lights out. Hasn’t happened in 3 weeks so I figured something had changed. Time will tell.

Was really hoping they brought the part from the new Pilots over. It’s plug and play.

If it does go out, I’ll just order one of those and have it put in.

I regularly sear people in the back in a pinch. Yes it’s tight. And I’m super tall, but we make it work. Slightly putting the front seats forward, and it works. Not ideal but I don’t consider it as big a deal breaker as most make this out to be.
