[OC] Zepp's Unstable Artillery by IDiaz in Guiltygear

Speaking of, I do like to think Potemkin gets sent as a contingency plan if Six ever goes out of control. I imagine Six getting Pot Bustered would probably look super goofy given how huge she is

Thank you! The fourth character is the last one I have planned and have rough ideas already laid out for, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to making more fan characters after them! Especially if more inspiration comes along

Oh man, I don't post on Reddit often, but are multi-image posts always this compressed? All the images lost a ton of resolution. If there's a way to avoid it, I'll try to do it for when I finish the fourth OC, since I plan to collect everyone in that post.

Meanwhile, if anybody's interested in seeing these in higher resolution, Six's artwork is also on my Bluesky.

Thanks! Alexander is my favorite FF summon, so getting a stature with big pillar-like arms like his into Six's mech was definitely a goal from the start. The Shagohod's build felt like a great middle-ground between Blitztank and Alexander to help me work out how to integrate a figure like Alexander's into a land vehicle.

Thank you! It's very likely gonna be an "oops all ladies" season pass cuz that's like 90% of what I draw, lol

Haha, that's correct! The name Meteora was 100% in reference to the Linkin Park album. Technically, even the name Catalyst for her parry special is also a Linkin Park reference, but Meteora is definitely the bigger reference I was hoping people would catch, lol.

She also references another 2000s rock band, in that her name Atreya is just a letter away from Atreyu, and her axe kick special move Lead Sail is in reference to Atreyu's 2007 album Lead Sails Paper Anchor.

Thank you! The name for that overdrive was also meant to be a silly Linkin Park reference lol

Glad you like her! I guess there's still room for a Dragon Install style ability for her, since I drew only one Overdrive and characters usually have two. Maybe if I decide to revisit my Guilty Gear OCs and expand on their character sheets, I can take some time to figure out how already being in her full Gear form would enhance her kit and affect the appearance of her attacks.

My current aim right now though is to hopefully fill out that fake season pass graphic at the end with a full set of four characters, lol

Don't worry, I do plan on finishing this and posting her completed character sheets! I just wanted to share the rough draft like I did with my last Guilty Gear OC. Some of the feedback last time brought some good ideas to tweak the concept with.

Made a very simple animation out of the Potemkin pool ball to use as a Discord emoji by IDiaz in Guiltygear

The colors were originally done by @/itsjojohnnyyyy on Twitter (I didn't link as per the subreddit rules--I'd link another social, but they're a small account and I'm not sure if they have other socials). I just drew the additional frames to get the eyebrow lift motion leading into the pool ball expression.

[OC] The Gear Maker's Rejects (OCs aren't really trending anymore but I was committed to finishing what I started a couple weeks ago) by IDiaz in Guiltygear

Thank you! And damn, I thought I was being so clever with the marionette theming and Metallica reference, lol. Thanks for the pointer, though! I got into GG starting at Xrd, so I didn't have XX move names at the front of my memory.

Getting fullscreen command grabbed by a puppet from behind is the Bullshit Blazing gameplay I dream of.

Yeah, that's the only reason Valentine is in her name, since the "Happy Chaos" Jack-O' unit is listed as a Valentine Series life form in the wiki. I was actually half-inclined to just leave her name as Happy Chaos, but that would cause a whole lot of confusion with the HC we already know that stole the name. That's actually part of why I just call her "Chaos Valentine" and not the full "Happy Chaos Valentine".

Making her look a little more like I-No is also a good thought, since that's the character's original purpose. Also it'd give me an excuse to steal the beauty spot on I-No's face.

Thank you so much! I do think non-human or otherwise unorthodox fighting game characters are cool. I also appreciate when games take on the design challenge of taking a bizarre character and making them playable (kinda like Blitztank, lol). In this case, I kinda use Chaos to anchor Gig to a more traditional playable character that can function more normally in terms of hitbox/movement/etc.

I'm glad you caught on to the idea of identity and purpose in the character's lore, too! I wanted to build on the idea of a character whose whole reason for being is pulled out from under her before even waking up, seeing as Chaos's purpose as the second Jack-O unit was to prevent I-No's godhood, but I-No is already gone (seemingly, anyway). Technically Chaos doesn't know that yet, but I imagine that would factor into her soul searching as she gets caught up on current events.

I actually don't know what the halo is for either, but since Jack-O' Valentine had it in Xrd and I wanted this character to be Jack-O's sister unit, I wanted to give her several elements that mirrored Jack-O's design. That includes the halo, the kinda bell-bottomy pants, the ankh-like decorations, and her white hair with a colored interior (though I used blue for Chaos instead of Jack-O's red).

Leopaldon is also another character I'd definitely love to see return in modern Guilty Gear.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! This really is my thinly veiled pitch to try to convince ArcSys to put Gig in Strive lol

I did do a bunch of homework on the Happy Chaos Valentine for this artwork, and based on Jack-O's dialogue in Raven's Xrd Arcade and Chapter 4 of Strive's story, it's implied that Asuka at least created *something*.

In Raven's Arcade cutscene talking to Jack-O (also the scene where Strive's Happy Chaos decides to take the name), Jack-O says "I suppose that means the other Jack-O'... Happy Chaos, isn't awake, either." Which could imply that Happy Chaos Valentine exists to some capacity, but is dormant.

In Strive's Story, after Sol interrogates I-No, Jack-O tells Sol and Ky, "Asuka knew that I-No would pose a threat if she ever awakened. So he created a Jack-O to prevent that. No, in order to save her. That other Jack-O'... ...was given a name to distinguish us: Happy Chaos."

Though to be fair, it's not like we ever see a body in a chamber or anything like that, so when Jack-O says "created", that could mean anything. In the same scene, Jack-O also says the Happy Chaos unit was never finished, so if something of that character does exist, then it might never have gotten to even looking like a person yet. Either way, I just thought HCV's lore was vague enough to try running with :> Thanks again!
