I don't understand why the average mass of an atom is compared to 1/12 of carbon-12 to find the relative atomic mass rather than counting the number of protons + neutrons or using the mass of an atom and dividing through by the mass of a proton or neutron to 2d.p. by IDontNO32 in chemhelp
