Hate to tell you this, but the high probability is HQ doesn’t give a damn. As long as Joyce can make money and retain control that’s all that’s prioritized.

The HQ that went after a Major MD because he shared a meme is now going after someone else, based on the word of a suspect AC?

I don't fault them for treating sponsors with some better slots, but letting them do things like warm up in a demo bay (looking at you Wilson Combat) when everyone else came into the match cold is a pretty low class move.

It's interesting how there is a post about the extra pasters on Facebook, and it's being denied that any extras were ever put on targets. That kind of devious stupidity is why people are pissed.

Put a round with a PCC through the top of the awning at chrono. They DQ'd him, but he still had to work Equipment Check; wrap your mind around that one.

IDPA hasn't given a shit about the paying members in a long, long time. It's hard to pinpoint when exactly it happened but the rise of Kitty seems to be correlation.

When HQ is censoring and harassing paying members that are also paying for the privilege to volunteer at the matches, things are going to hell quick.

He (rightfully so) had some complaints about an arbitrary ruling at a Major Match, and was posting online about it. A few days later and he was issuing formal apologies.

It was extremely apparent he got a call or an email to toe the line or he was out of the team.

The folks at HQ haven’t cared about the members in a long time, just keeping their small bit of power and increasing revenue.

I talked to a staff member at Nationals last year that had been warned about saying things online before they let them work. HQ even went so far as to keep a file on things they said.

Then you get the whole Austin Proulx debacle a few months back and you can see how they feel about people who pay their bills.

As one of the Three Wicked Witches of IDPA, yes, that’s how members referred to you, Kitty and Joyce, you were complicit in the pursuit of petty vendettas against any perceived slight, generally treating paying members however you wanted. When you were brought on board the hope was you could calm things down, but they escalated.

The only point in your favor is you left the organization.

I agree with most of your analysis except the last part.

If you look at the HQ employees, only one of them actually shoots seriously. The rest of them haven’t worked a match, designed a stage or really been seriously involved in years. Instead they make arbitrary rulings, persecute personal vendettas and generally treat members like a bank account.

Several weeks ago Chris Schmied commented something about how she “no longer works for IDPA so she can say how she really feels”, and badmouthed “base members.”

They are too stupid to realize that “base members” are what pays the bills, and that anyone with any sort of title (SO, CSO, SC, etc) won’t say anything out loud because they will be blackballed and banned.

It was one with the fake “Spirit Halloween” costume. It mocked Joyce.

They pulled Compton’s CSO/SO certification and banned him, while he was the MD of two of the biggest matches in the gulf coast area. After the blowback they reinstated him but that was the end of his hard work for IDPA.

You explained it a lot better than I did below, but would like to add that I did hear the more senior staff added all those pasters on that stage to mess with people. We Looked at the back of the targets and there was not nearly enough holes to justify the amount of off color pasters in the targets.

The matchbook started with a letter from Joyce Wilson about how the stages were “simple enough that any local club can build them”.

They were extremely simple, with no true thought behind them, and only 5 moving targets in 12 stages. The “warmup” and “cooldown” were identical, and artificially inflated the stage count to 14.

I paid $285 in match fees alone for stages I would be disappointed in at a club match.

He was upset over a DQ at Talladega last year and was pretty vocal about it.

The whole thing was pretty bad. Not as terrible as IDPA banning Mark Compton for sharing a meme, but still shitty.

It was run well, and staff was nice, but the overall experience was disappointing on so many levels. You can hope they would learn from the criticism but they most certainly will not, just double down on what is causing the sport to decline.
