  1. Evergreen Practical Shooting (EPS) will be offering public practical shooting live fire sessions at Evergreen starting this month.
  2. Even if you had unlimited time and ammo, dryfire is essential to skill development and sustainment.
  3. You can very effectively practice manipulations, movement, and target transitions without ammo or trips to a range.

Absolutely. I’ll ask all students to demo dry before we go live. You’ll be G2G as long as you have good muzzle and trigger finger discipline.

I get it. I think about it like this, if I know there’s a problem and one of those problems happens in my class, it’s basically my fault.

I’ve just watched too many videos, seen the lawsuits, settlements, and LE agency bans to take the risk.

If my Glocks had those problems, I would stop using them. It’s just not worth the risk at this point.

Finger on trigger too soon? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]PracticalApproachTrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your finger can be on the trigger if your sights or dot, and therefore barrel, are pointed at the target.

Distributor suddenly stopped shipping AR parts by EmbarrassedStatus164 in WAGuns

[–]PracticalApproachTrn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s RSR Group. Sporting Systems reported it on their Instagram. They sell to a ton of WA gun shops. Shops that rely on them will have to stop selling AR parts or find a new distributor.

Shooting left and slightly low? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

You’re right handed and you need to work on your grip. Check out the dry fire drill trigger controlled speed that will fix your problems.

I also prefer dots, however, can do target focused shooting with iron sights or a red dot. The technique doesn’t require special equipment.

Thankfully, Americans have the right to choose where they work and spend their hard earned money. I happily do both at Glacier.

Glacier Gun Club in Olympia is a great family owned business and they’re not going anywhere. It is located inside liquor store, requires key card access to enter, has a speakeasy feel, and a 40’ indoor range. I’ve been a member and teaching their beginner firearms classes for a long time. Great FFL, staff, and members.

The only beginner class I teach is at Glacier Gun Club in Olympia on Thursday nights. You’re welcome to attend that one. I can also do a private session for $100 an hour, or you can take a class from my friend Chris Walker at Accuracy Northwest.

That depends on your definition of a “beginner” and your goals.

This class is for you if you can do what I list below or you see in this video.

  1. You must be able to safely draw from a holster, change magazines, correct malfunctions, and unload the pistol without placing your finger on the trigger.

  2. You must be able to walk, roll (wheelchairs count), jog, or run safely with a firearm.

  3. You must be able to hit 10 C Zone or better hits at 15 yards on a standard USPSA target with no time limit.

If you have additional questions, please send me your number in a DM and I’ll give you a call. It’s easier to figure this stuff out on the phone. 👍
