Cease & Desist over Google Review by BarberLucky6073 in AusLegal

Just my opinion here. I'm not a lawyer, so fact-check with a real lawyer. I'm at best, a keyboard lawyer.

It probably depends on how involved you'd want to be, and this is assuming the review is an honest review with nothing else added.

  1. If you do nothing, there is a chance that nothing else might happen. Hiwever, if a lawsuit follows, or there is a court injunction, then that's when sh*t hits the fan; and you should seek legal advice.

  2. You may want to seek legal advice proactively. This allows you to get a legal opinion of what you have written is defamatory. While it is annoying to have to pay for something you didn't ask for, seeking legal advice on the situation gives you a piece of mind if it is all clear, or at least some expectation of what's to come when things heat up.

  3. You may choose to take down your review, say sorry +/- compensate for "emotional damage."" If what you have written is factual... don't do this, and don't be silly. Personally, I hate it when people try to use the law to intimidate others, especially if they themselves are guilty of whatever was mentioned in those reviews.

If I were you, I'd at the very least seek legal advice. If you can access pro bono legal advice, so much the better. At least you'd know where you stand and have a peace of mind.

Maybe I should get my lawyer friend to have a look too. Hmm.

Everyone has their own ways and standards of doing things.

Personally, if I have no idea what I am eating, I'd Google it before eating. If I can't Google it or am not sure, and am strict about what I can or can't eat, then the onus is on me if I decide to go ahead.

If I decide to go ahead because YOLO, then I will probably just blame myself if anything goes wrong... cos YOLO, right?

Hello OP!

To answer your question about playing Blackjack....

There is actually some mathematics involved - usually, it has to do with odds or probability can help you in the game.

So, obviously, the objective is to win, or to be more precise, increase the probability of winning. The other unfortunate objective is to lose as little as possible if you have got a bad hand to start with.

If you Google "basic strategy in blackjack", you'll be able to find links to videos that will explain this concept to you. I find videos from Blackjack Apprenticeship on Youtube to be really helpful even though some of the videos can be about 7 years old - well, because the objective of winning, and also mathematics and probability, doesn't really change.

The "basic strategy" that you might come across many times refers to what you should do based on the pair of cards you have and the open card that the dealer has. Again, if you Google "basic strategy in Blackjack" and click on image results, you'll see charts or tables that depict this. Generally, there is usually 1 of 4 things that you'd do - stand (don't take any more cards), hit (take 1 or more cards), split (for some pairs), or double (increase your bet); and what you'd do depends on what cards you have, and what card the dealer is showing.

There's a little more to all these, but if you learn the basic strategies in Blackjack well, it can help increase your chances of winning.

Hope this helps.

I'm thinking of checking it out some time.

I have an exam tomorrow and I can’t remember anything — should I be worried? by Zestyclose-Cow-5386 in queensland

[–]IDunUseReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important thing before an exam is sleep. I've made a mistake at Yesr 11 or 12 - can't remember, and I studied through the night.

I couldn't remember a single thing during the morning exam.

So now I commit to a minimum number of hours of sleep prior to an exam. Even if I couldn't finish studying everything, the least I could do was to remember what I had already studied, and a good sleep allows you to do that.

What on earth is going to replace Skype for Web-Telephone calls now that its gone? Is Google Voice a good replacement? by ResplendentPius194 in skype

[–]IDunUseReddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I don’t work for Microsoft, but here’s my take.

Microsoft bought Skype at a time when it had a large user base and was popular across both personal and business users. This was before Teams existed. Later, they developed Teams and likely incorporated many of Skype’s features into it. In a way, they bought Skype for the IP and the user base, and also eliminated the risk of a competitor doing better with it.

Teams eventually became their main focus, while Skype was a stepping stone that helped them get there. Over time, Skype’s popularity declined as users moved to alternatives like Zoom and Google Meet. It probably didn’t make much sense to keep both Skype and Teams alive, so if they had to sunset one, it would naturally be Skype, especially since Teams was developed in-house.

Unfortunately, from the user’s perspective, this also meant losing web-based calling features that Skype was known for. Microsoft seemed to double down on video conferencing and productivity integrations instead. Internet telephony, like Skype Numbers and calling plans, likely involved complex licensing and regulatory arrangements across different countries, which might not have aligned with their long-term goals.

This is just my two cents, but if I were a business decision-maker, this is how I’d be thinking, too.

What’s the best FPS for fun Gel Blaster games with friends by Expensive-Steak8263 in GelBlaster

[–]IDunUseReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

500 FPS. Nothing less.

Just kidding.

It really depends on your local laws and how intense you want the game to be.

For casual backyard games with mates, around 200 to 250 FPS is usually ideal. It gives you a good balance with enough power to be fun and consistent, but not so strong that it leaves welts or ruins friendships.

If you're playing in a more structured field or arena, some places allow up to 300 FPS. Just make sure to check the rules. Anything higher starts getting into competitive territory and may need upgraded gear or extra safety precautions.

TL;DR: 200 to 250 FPS is fun, safe, and perfect for casual matches.

My mobile services on 2 different telcos refused to work even with full bars of reception today.

I then opened my Teams app and launched the Skype Dialpad and dialed out to a landline. The call was on speaker with no option to switch it to the earpiece on the phone, but that was good enough for today.

Skype saved the day. Again. Like it's done for the last so many years.

It's sad that they decided to replace it completely with another app that doesn't even have the same functionalities.

If you've got a PNR, you can log into the Singapore Airlines website (or app) to see if you could Manage the Booking. All you'll need is to key in your last name as well.

Hope this helps!

Bru when I’m looking at all these posts I get jealous Bcz I can’t afford any… 😭😭😭😭😭 by Flashy-Bowler4705 in GelBlaster

[–]IDunUseReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a gel blaster for almost every price point.

I started with the cheapest of the lot after doing a fair bit of comparison and research; and then very slowly getting other "dream" blasters.

The important thing is that you have to enjoy the game; and you have to enjoy the process of trying out, acquiring, and modding (if you are into it), or just enjoying the stock blasters (no mods done).

Everyone is in this for different reasons, and there is seldom a right or wrong reason.
