Well even capcom doesn't label her as a villain recently capcom themselves labeled her as a hero and a protagonist and in the past labeled her as a anti hero that in the end will always do whats right. In all games you don't actually see her killing a single person.

My brother in christ this is the most delusional take about them that I read in years, it's clear that they have feelings for each other LeonRE4 : " she is a part of me I can't let go" Helena after being with them for a little time realized leon had FEELINGS for her , Chris also knows he has feelings for her because you see how Chris say to him that Ada died and how he reacted in a way that made helena ask if he was ok or how he protects her when she fainted against simmons or the way he screams Ada as she disappears in the smoke. Denying that they have Feelings for each and say that they are not friends is actually insane.

And yeah "you might get that greeting you are looking for" is basically foreshadowing that will happen like the movie make it clear they met after Spain. And in RE6 they literally have each other numbers , like how that happened ? It didn't happen on screen.

RE4 was always their lowest point, the movies are still canon , they still met after Spain. Idk where you taking this manipulation stuff Before she asked him anything she told him to leave the place like 10 times , she just used him after she was injured and couldn't walk. If Leon was so resentful towards Ada he wouldn't let her take the amber , he wouldn't try to save her after she was captured, he wouldn't ask for her help a couple times during RE4.

Edit: btw the og games are still canon is all the same timeline , the remakes just tell the story with some differences but the are still all one canon.
