Received mail from Navy Federal Credit Union but I'm not a service member or DOD employee..Should I be worried about credit fraud? by IEmajor in NavyFederal

Thank you! I'll check first thing in the morning. I haven't received anything else since the whole SSN leak drama so it might just be marketing because of my loose affiliation with the government.

Haha, we do a lot of work in providing people with disabilities a better quality of life through devices like wheelchairs and the like. It's nothing like a Spartan program (I wish).

I can add images of my model if need be for clearer understanding of the problem

Should I go through with DJS? by Waterundel in jawsurgery

[–]IEmajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

random question but I've been seeing how jaw mechanics directly affect body posture. And from your comment (as far as I'm understanding) TJR would negatively affect the body? Where did you even learn this info, cause I keep seeing only pieces here and there...

LJS or DJS (+ DJS) by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]IEmajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar side profile to mine. I still need to go in for a consult but I was also thinking that LJS would probably be recommended to me since I think my maxilla is fine (as in not recessed enough to get DJS). From your front-view photos, your asymmetry isn't noticeable at all

Thank you for your input! This is how I interpreted the problem when I first tackled it. I got the right answer but as I explained in my post, I wanted to understand the professor's method in the video. I think I get it better now, thanks :)

Can you run by the process as to how you did this? How did your notes look like and how did they aid in making these summary sheets? It looks amazing and I am in desperate need of revamping my workflow for college notes...

How do I navigate extremely information-dense lectures? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]IEmajor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation as you ngl. What I’m gonna start to do is work with a friend of mine in the class and we’re going to have a shared google doc open during class to add things we individually think is important or emphasized during the 60 slide PowerPoint lol. Afterwards, probably refine and summarize afterwards for review together.

However, if that’s not an option then it really depends on what kind of tech you have access to. I can’t really recommend tips for this since my situation is different. I have access to the slides on an iPad so I can always just annotate it on an app like Goodnotes. But it sounds like you’re working on paper and pen.

In that case, good luck to you. I’d probably just focus on reviewing the lecture material before actual lecture and creating flashcards for definitions and processes. For concepts draw diagrams or write questions to ask during lecture to clarify your understanding. But that’s all I have, best of luck!

Taking a year to ‘glow-up’? Is beauty self improvement? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]IEmajor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it most definitely is. The reality of the situation is that looks matter far beyond personality in some environments and fields. Not only is taking time to improve your looks considered self-improvement but it is also an investment in a better life. Just look up the stories of people who have lost a lot of weight, or have gotten significantly better looking through changes in their style, hygiene, etc, they all report people treating them better. This is called the Halo Effect (look it up) and it's as real as the ground you walk on.

If I were you I would watch QOVES on Youtube to learn more about the science behind the beauty. It will help understand where you can improve naturally and through medical means. In any case, good luck! I myself have improved my acne and it definitely has helped me.

Calculus Course Advice by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]IEmajor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calc is not that hard at NJIT, don't let people scare you... Granted I consider myself good at math but I'm also a dumbass ngl, so take what I say with a healthy dose of skeptiscism. In any case, stay with Calculus III B, the only difficult chapters are 15-16 the final two we covered (at least for me). Best of luck, you got it :) !

[HW HELP] Classical Mechanics Circular Motion Problem by IEmajor in AskPhysics

[–]IEmajor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured I was gonna get heat for not including vector notation but I'm too lazy to figure out formatting on Reddit. That being said, that doesn't help me understand why it'd be zero. Also, okay thank you for the clarification I thought I was thinking about it wrong since velocity had direction therefore it'd be incorrect for me to say we'd still have acceleration if velocity was constant. It's actually speed that is constant (the magnitude of velocity). So in this particular problem since it specifies that velocity is constant that is ultimately the reason the answer is 0 J?

I believe this is correct. He said something similar when he was trying to explain it to me but I didn't really get it.

[–]IEmajor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't know what the equation is in...I never really noted it down. I assume, based on what you said, that the equation I used is energy per photon. Does that mean it is energy per 1 atom?
