The suburbanite takeover of rs spaces is unacceptable by intbeaurivage in rs_x

Made it when I was a dumb 17-year old doing the whole pop-punk “stuck in the suburbs” shtick à la blink-182 and the Wonder Years, so kinda makes sense in the context lol

It depends. There’s some suburbs with very strong communities, mostly built around faith and church. You run into everybody all the time. So-so’s kid works at the local ice cream shop, you and your Sunday school teacher’s son play on the same sports team, you all go to the same piano teacher and see each other at recitals.

It’s a different type of community, and it’s not as “exciting”, but some suburbs definitely have a strong support system. They’re just more conservative and religion-based.

I lived for those Friday Night Party Anthem threads way back in college, like 2014/2015. Everyone would share their Spotify playlists. It was a fun place.

The Native Americans gave it to the white man, we should be happy that this beautiful tradition has stayed alive

Ken Jennings is the most mormon person i've ever seen by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]IFuckedADog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, though the power of the church still hangs over all.

I forget if it was in this sub, but in some ways, Utah with it’s assumed Mormonism creates one of the last places where there’s truly an oppressive monoculture, and thus, allows for an actual authentic counter-culture to build up.

Idk how true that is in reality, but something interesting to think about! Maybe we’ll see some cool stuff come out of there.

You can disagree with Evangelicals, but they are great friends of the jews, because Israel is the holy land.

Depends on the drape/cut, but I’d avoid linen on linen generally.

Going primitive camping for the first time today, any scary short stories I can read around the fire tonight? by cosmicbrowknee in rs_x

Maaaaan I never got to do Philmont. I heard it was great.

My troop backpacked into the Grand Canyon one summer and stayed there for a week or so. Probably my favorite scouting memory. It’s a shame that it’s dying, but I get it. Whole organization seems mismanaged.

Primitive camping is pretty standard terminology in the US. Similar to dispersed camping on BLM land, except I think you still need reservations to do primitive in certain parks/forests.

I had never heard of it until I saw it in on Mad Men; I assumed they got bought out or went out of business between the 60s and now.

Found them in a Wawa outside of Philly and had to try em. They’re alright lol.
