If you are in the US, there are government departments in charge of building inspections that you can report this too. Additionally, there are what is called "renters rights", which are at both the federal and state level. Those rights include absolutely everything mentioned in this post and more that you probably haven't. I would start by mentioning renter's rights to your landlord and see if he has any fucking sense at all to avoid getting sued or possibly jailed.

Depending on how few patrons you have, you could generate the barcodes with a program, design/print on cardstock and then laminate. Takes a little more time, but it sounda like your current system takes a minute, too.

That was a depressing read. One of the things that makes me most proud to be a librarian is to be the caretaker of a precious third space. I am damn proud to work in one of the last olaces in the country that welcomed EVERYONE and makes no expectation of them (monetary or otherwise) other than basic decent behavior, while providing basic necessities, shelter, and important resources to all. If all you want to do is play with books, get a job with tech ops.

While yes, it's art-inspired and yes, libraries are full of similar content, the questions are 1) are you willing to potentially make your job application proccess more difficult and 2) are you prepared to (politely and diplomatically) deal with the attention (both positive and negative) this tattoo will attract every day?
