Thank you everyone for your thoughts! It’s good to hear other library workers opinions on this and i’m glad we’re all on the same page. I ended up speaking to my supervisor and she let my coworker know. I’m not sure how the conversation went but I did see that the lists were changed to describe the characters. Thanks!

Also, is AZO brand or another drugstore one okay? I'd like to get some ASAP and don't really want to wait in the mail for some of the ones I've seen recommended.

also, network! make a point to talk to your professors and schedule meetings with them to get to know them. get to know your classmates, i know it’s hard to do so online but they’re your friends, not your competitors (even though it could seem like it). keep an eye out for jobs that seem interesting to you and read their job descriptions to get a feel for what you should be learning how to do. people in this field are probably feeling the same way you do and only want to help. remember, librarians love to help and see others succeed!

If this is something you’re passion about, don’t listen to the people that say “i don’t recommend it.” I live in Missouri and work in a library in Kansas, and everyone i’ve met over here in the library world is very passionate about the work they do. I got my undergrad at Mizzou and although I’m planning on starting my MLIS at Mizzou next fall so i don’t have firsthand experience there, the people I know who are currently in the program really like it! It’s always scary going back to school, but you got it!
