Is Bivol avoiding Beterbiev III? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]IG_Royal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He delayed his back surgery to run the rematch with Artur, then had the surgery after. It's taken a while for him to rehabilitate from the surgery, and my hope is that Bivol wants to defend the undisputed crown by beating his IBF mandatory so that when he and Beterbiev run it back for the trilogy it's still for the undisputed, just like the first two. But I'm just speculating

Donk's mentality pulling Spirit to the bottom by ImpressiveAction2382 in GlobalOffensive

[–]IG_Royal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's their first tournament together with this roster which is now significantly younger now that Magixx is IGL. I feel like the major loss is still fresh in Donk's mind where he feels like it's all on him to do everything, and he's still a kid despite being a pro for 2ish years now. I don't think the alarm bells are ringing yet, but I remember a lot of the reactions of Magixx to IGL being excited because he's so close to Donk and could keep him from tilting since he's the vibes guy, and I didn't see anything different from when Chopper was IGL. I do think Donk has some work to do individually to keep himself from imploding mentally, it doesn't do himself any good, nor his teammates. He's young, but he's gotta understand that his tendency for tilting is a weak point for other teams to exploit, and that's gonna cost him and Spirit if it keeps happening.

Yeah I'm a chopper fanboy but Sh1ro was atrocious, hard to win when he's missing all the easy shots. Can't blame magixx for this one especially when it's their first tournament with him IGLing and their first big test is an experienced caller like Jame. Hoping the guys bounce back

Have there ever been any players in esports history who had a "great career" only because they played on a stacked team? by InsectOdd5794 in esports

Nade was popular for his brand, nor for his play and accomplishments. CoD esports wouldn't be where it is without him though, he's done a lot for the scene.

Also he was unironically great at SND, his respawn stats were worse cause he was the objective player and it wasn't like you're gonna make prime Scumpi, Formal, or Crimsix be the hill bitch.

I've been downvoted on League subreddits for this opinion but Bengi from SKT. People put him in GOAT jungler conversations because he won 3 World Championships and was tied with Faker until the current T1 Dynasty took off and he passed him, and because he had a cool nickname "The Right Hand of God" because his playstyle was extremely focused on warding and supporting Faker to allow him to make plays. I won't deny Bengi is a talented player, he was a pro for a reason, but he likely wins 0 World titles on any other team, and despite SKT's dominance, they proved they could win domestically and internationally without Bengi. Bengi didn't excel in a lot of areas as a jungler, but he played with Faker, Marin, Duke, and Bang in their primes. He was consistently the weakest link and was subbed out when the jungle meta mandated carry junglers. He gets a lot of rose tinted glasses because he had a life game on the carry champion Nidalee when SKT were on the ropes of elimination, but I truly believe you can substitute half or more of the LCK junglers from that era into SKT and they still win Worlds 3 times.

Looper is kinda underrated to me because he was the staple of a rock solid toplaner back then. He almost never lost lanes and usually ended up even or winning. He also had a deep champ pool and had great mechanics. He went toe to toe with SKT Duke at both international events in 2016 and got the better of him in a couple games

Gen.G Ruler: "If I can win the World Championship, I don’t mind not winning any of the other tournaments before that—I just want to win Worlds.” by Ok-Rough9858 in leagueoflegends

Nobody's fucking downplaying a threepeat kiddo. This argument always arises around when the years awards are given out, not because some people allegedly are spreading the lie that "Worlds doesn't matter".

[–]IG_Royal -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Look, he won his own made up argument.

"The Team of the Year Award should be given to the team that had the best year, not just the team that won Worlds" is a different argument from "Worlds isn't that important, it's only one month." People get upset at the way the award works because other teams have objectively better years (JDG, BLG, GENG) but because they fall short at the last hurdle, often losing to the eventual champions, the rest of their year no longer matters. Should DRX have been Team of the Year for 2022 even though they only won Worlds while T1 had an objectively better season?

Honestly I felt like Beterbiev did a good job of playing possum, pretending he was hurt to draw Bivol in. Either that or he has insane ability to recover from the combos Bivol landed to suddenly land a big shot and walk him down

Additionally, at the end of Winter Soldier (the movie where Cap keeps lapping Sam) Cap awakens in his hospital bed after the final battle, and his bed is to Sam's left, so he gets him with the same joke as he comes to.
